I have only used this 3 nights in a row but it has worked perfectly. I have issues with mindless night eating and needed something to help stop it. This is great you can set it and it unlocks itself after the set time. I had to buy a longer cable for my fridge though so beware the cable this comes with is very short it's 12 inches. Would recommend.

The lock is sturdy and very easy to use but it has a way to easy way to bypass the timer to unlock it (I am sure its for safety reasons) but it makes it pretty useless. If I was able to lock something and trust myself not to unlock it before a length of time I wouldn't need a timer lock...

I take a sleep medicine that had me eating in the middle of the night. I was so mad when I woke up and it was doing terrible things for my diet! I looked for refrigerated lockboxes to no avail. Well, what I found was small and would not hold what I needed Then I found this beautiful lock with its extension cable, which which I can wrap around the handles to the refrigerator and it works perfectly! I put snacks inside the refrigerator and you can set it by the minute by the hour or by the day and it is not possible to open it before the time is up! My son bought one as well to lock up his computer and cell phone phone so he doesn’t use it at night! The only thing I could think of that would be an improvement is the extension cable should be a thicker chain . I am not stupid enough to cut through the cable and waste my money, but I could see some people who could be more desperate would do so and I’m pretty sure you could cut through this cable pretty easily! For my needs, it’s absolutely perfect. It’s digital and requires charging by USB, but that’s not at all a problem for me — when I take it off the refrigerator in the morning I plug it in and then I take it off the charger at night to use it. I have not tested how long it last without being charged because it’s not a problem for me to charge daily! When the time is up, the lock literally pops open!

This product& a lockable box has single handedly been the best thing to help with my junk food snacking habits. At first I was skeptical because the manual has an ‘emergency’ override that I thought could be used 3 times per lock cycle (which would defeat the purpose of the lock) but it turns out it’s 3 times over the lifespan of the lock (or maybe per charge cycle, tbd) so once the overrides are used up, you can’t use the feature anymore
