Great sound for a shelf speaker!
I wanted a CD player for the livingroom, but not a boombox, and also not a huge stereo system. I liked that it also had bluetooth. I was not expecting much for the price of around $150, but I must say I am very impressed with the sound! It is not tinny, muffled, or thin. To me it sounds full and balanced. I think it sounds better than any portable Bluetooth speaker we have. It was easy to set up. I played CD's and also streamed from my phone. Yes, as others have said, everything needs to be done with the remote, but I find the remote easy to understand and it works just fine. The clock brightness is adjustable or can be turned off. The FM radio works fine, and I dont even have the antenna unrolled. I won't use that much so I can't say much about it, but it picked up local channels easily. Easy to hook it up to the tv, but I won't be using that (at least for now). Overall I am super happy with my purchase!

Love the Aiwa CD player so much, just bought a second one for my home.
My home is not huge (a shade under 1450 sq. ft.) but I really feel that I need a second Aiwa for the kitchen / living room area. I bought the first Aiwa brand new in March of 2025. It resides in my bedroom on a small upright dresser. It is not a big unit. It does not take up much space. It is a wonderful CD player. The sound is good. Additionally it has AM / FM radio. There is an antenna on the back to assist with reception. Built in bluetooth that pairs easily with my phone. It contains an auxiliary input & a jack that you can plug a set of wired earphones in the back. Also has a clock. No alarm, but I knew that before I purchased it. Both of my remotes work well. Reading some of the other reviews, I feel fortunate to have good remotes. These do resemble Bose. It is not a Bose, and it's not fair to compare the two. Years ago, the wave started at about $500 or more. Bose wave units are no longer manufactured. It is hard to find a new Bose unit & the prices for the used / “renewed” are ridiculous! Aiwa has been around for quite some time. My experience with the brand have always been great. I feel confident that I will get my money's worth from the two units. All in all, very happy with the Aiwa units. Would purchase again.

Remote does not work well
This is a nice home speaker system, however, the remote does not work well. This is actaully the secon AIWA that I have received, as the first one did not read CDs at all (the mai reason I bought it). This second one works well once you get it going. The sound is good and fills the room. The four stars and not five are because of the remote. It sometimes takes pushing the button four or five times before anything happens. I stand directly in front of the unit, load a cd, wait until it is ready, and then push play. wait about 20 seconds, nothin happens, press play again. Repeat this process until cd finally starts playing. The same thing happens when you press pause or any other button. Plus, there is no manual button I can press on the system. It is this bad remote or nothing else. A shame, becasue otherwise a good unit.

AIWA Sound System and CD player
I would highly recommend this. I lost use of my disc player, very sad without having any music. I am so happy to have found this player. Great sound, excellent price, the size with speakers is awesome. No more big system taking up massive room with player and speakers. It was easy to set up, the sound and volume is perfect. Love the ease of running the disc player, and functions very well with the remote. Which by the way the whole system runs off the remote. I think it is outstanding quality for the money. I am very pleased with this purchase,

Good speaker but I don't recommend this unit as a CD Player
I found this product by searching on "CD Player." I was trying to replace my old Bose CD player with something other than a boom box. I should have paid better attention to the name of this product: AIWA Exos Home SPEAKER. If you want a nice-looking, small speaker for your play list or for your TV, this unit might work for you. However, that's not what I wanted. I wanted a CD player. In my opinion, the CD player component is flimsy and clumsy to use, and the controller is small, cheap, hard to read, and not intuitive. Pretty good instructions are included; however, after several tries, we could not program radio presets. We don't know why. Without pre-sets, changing radio stations requires clicking fwd and rev over and over. I should have paid attention to other reviewers who didn't like the controller or had problems getting it to work; however, I know that sometimes people complain because they don't read the instructions. For example, one reviewer complained about the bright blue display which was too bright for their bedroom. The instructions do explain how to dim that display. Bottom line: The speaker quality seems good, but the CD player and controller both seem flimsy, cheap, and clumsy to use. This unit did not fill my needs. I was able to initiate a return with no difficulty.

Great but AIWA needs to work on the remote.
Absolutely a great set! The sound and ease of setup...great. I ordered it for the FM but the ability to play a CD and be able to stream my Spotify and Amazon music is a huge plus. The quality of build and sound are great considering the small footprint. The remote could use an upgrade to increase IR range snd power. Overall, I am extremely happy it. Would definitely recommend to my friends and others. Don't expect it to rival other sound systems ( in a much a higher price range). This is in a class by itself. Great for an average sized room. Sounds great and you won't be disappointed.

Excellent sound and basic design
The AIWA Exos Home Speaker with CD Player is very basic and has a very nice sound. I like the no frills unit, because all I want to do is listen to CDs, one radio station, and pair it with my Chromebook to listen to tunes. This Exos stereo does all of those things and is easy to install, set-up, and use. The clock is easy to read and easy to set. I do not need an alarm clock and think that the unit sounds very nice without having to fiddle with an equalizer. It also fits right where its predecessors used to sit. a Toshiba TY-CWU700 and a Bose Wave before it. Five Stars!

Good for tech challenged family members!
Bought this for my non-tech savvy mom who is getting up in years and wanted a simple radio. Mostly it delivers! Pros: -Simple to use! -Large clock display! -Very flexible. Hard to find something that does Bluetooth, CDs, Radio, AUX, and optical to connect to the TV and use as soundbar of sorts! Plays plenty loud. -Small size and contemporary style. Looks like a Bose Wave but is actually a little bigger. Cons: -I own a Bose Wave and that sounds better than this as the price disparity might suggest. Audio is somewhat bass-heavy and muddy on this Aiwa. Some might actually be impressed with the amount of bass this tiny ported cabinet cranks out but I would hope for a tighter and brighter sounding machine. -Local FM reception is mediocre with the included antenna wire.

Power Plug Ins-they are not all compatible with all countries.
Hi all, please note, my reason for this review, is due to the very obvious in the "PLUG" into a wall socket system provided for this Radio. Since I am in Australia the supplied plug does not fit our wall power points. Using an adaptor to fit this system, failed dramatically, due to weight of transformer supplied. The transformer kept falling lose off the wall socket. Hence the item had to be returned. Other reasons for return were, if living in a "Rural Area" forget it, it plain & simple does not pick FM stations as mentioned it would. Also note, Amazon has been very helpful in the return process-so far.
