Ordered these to replace a filter that came with my Churchwarden Pipe. They were great, but after a humid summer, I can barely pull through a brand new filter (just trying the filter alone). This is just a warning to those that live in humid environments, keep these in a cool set place!

I smoked with Stanwell 9mm filters for 4 months straight before I tried these and I can really tell a difference. The reason the draw through these filters is so good is because they barely filter. The draw, taste and feel with these filters is closer to not having a filter at all than it is to the Stanwell filters. This could be good or bad for you depending on what you're looking for. If you use them to prevent or cure tongue bite, they may not actually do that. But they do improve tobaccos that are a bit too moist and prevent gurgling. I prefer the Stanwell and will stick with those at 6 cents more per filter.

These are 9mm OD filters with HARD plastic rings at each end. Very difficult to peel paper and remove plastic caps. These are a perfect fit for a 9mm ID pipe stem - meaning the little short bit that sticks off the bowl. These stick out about a half inch from the stem, and since they're the exact same size as the mouthpiece which must fit up to half an inch inside the stem, and since they can't be mashed to fit inside or cut to length (since cutting just opens up the interior to spill out charcoal), these are total garbage. Maybe if your pipe stem was another 2 inches longer than mine, in which case you wouldn't need a mouthpiece at all. Or if your pipestem was made for the mouthpiece to fit over the outside rather than the inside (mine isn't). Or if you wanted to burn a pipe an inch and a half from your eyes and suck on the garbage little filter instead of putting on a stem. At $10.99 per package I strongly suspect this product is intended to be total garbage that sells and then isn't worth shipping back for a refund. I'll try cutting a boxful open to salvage activated charcoal and see if there's enough in there to make these worth anything at all but a bad review.
