I used these for two half marathons and trainings this past year and they made a world of a difference! I used took one every 4 miles and it gave me the perfect pick me up for the next leg. They were gentle on my stomach and tasted fine!

Just received a packet last week and tried them on a long run, eleven miles, yesterday. I had been using goo packs and taking one starting at mile 5 then another every two miles. With those I felt a quick boost of energy in about 5 minutes then losing it 15 or so minutes later. Yesterday I took a goo at mile five and then tried the UCAN at mile 7. I didn't get the jolt with goo, but was glad to see my energy level was sustained the remaining for miles of my run.As a note, the slightly longer neck of the packet makes it easier to get the gel into my mouth.

I tried this for my 14 mile long run, and I loved them. I went off of the good reviews. I hadn't heard of their product before. The flavor was really good. I tried strawberry banana, orange mango and lime I believe. The consistency was perfect. I felt a energy boost every time I ate one. I played with the timing a bit. I took one 15 min before my run, the next at 3 miles, the next at 7 miles and lastly one at 11 miles. It didn't feel like too much and I didn't have stomach upset. Some I've used before would cause some acid reflux which was terrible. The package says 75 mins, but that seemed to long to me. I'll have to keep trying to get the perfect fuel times.*** I have been using these for maybe a couple months? I do love the energy boost, but the after taste is starchy and does make your mouth dry***

This gel tastes like a fruit smoothie and is easy on the stomach. With sugar-based gels like Gu or Maurten I tend to get a cycle of sugar-highs and crashes if I’m not constantly downing one every 40 mins. By the end of a marathon or a long run or ride I feel kind of gross. With UCAN I don’t get the quick sugar high, but I also don’t crash out as quick and I can space out my fueling a bit longer. These also aren’t sticky sweet so they go down smoother. It’s almost like a runny Greek yogurt consistency. Only downside is that they take an adjustment period to train the body to work with slow digesting carbs.

I used these while training for a marathon and loved them, I love that they do not have any added refined sugar. I was nervous that I would run out of energy during a marathon, and that I would need actual sugar during the marathon. These worked wonderfully for me during the New York marathon! I love how they last longer than usual gels. I never hit the wall during the race.

People should use it on a run. No water needed.

I’m currently training for a half marathon, I’ve tried dozens of other gels/chews/tabs and they have always left me with digestive issues. This one gave me lasting energy (1hour) and gave me NO digestive issues. The taste was good and I was able to maintain my speed for an entire hour of running followed by 39 min strength training.
