The media could not be loaded. Vevor seems to have some good products, but I can't include this hoist in that statement. The pictures and video included in this review are from the hoist being "new" and with no load on the hook.Upon first operation, my son stated that it was "leaking", but I was too close to notice. Once I saw the particles coming out, I cut a paper-plate to capture the debris being ejected from the unit. In fairness, this could totally be a fluke or one-off failure, but I didn't want to risk trying a replacement.I was drawn to this hoist with the thought that I could just un-hook it and place out of the way when not in use. However, the unit uses a universal motor and is incredibly loud. I wound up purchasing another hoist that was rated for 440 pounds, that cost the less than $5 more, and am very pleased with that purchase.

Seems to be a good value so far. Lights tell you the status of the motor: green light you're good, but red lights...well, that's trouble (see photo).
