The Ritz London Book of Afternoon Tea: The Art and Pleasures of Taking Tea

so well-written!!i love the history in this book, i love how the images are in keeping with the victorian & edwardian times discussed in the book, & i love how the wording, grammar & writing style is also historically accurate to those times. hats are off to the author, she did an excellent job with the history, the tastefulness of her presentation and charm of her writing, not to mention the comfort of the topic. the recipes are wonderful-sounding (i did not try any but i likely will when i buy a copy of this book for myself & have a ladies' tea), & are also in keeping with previous days' typical tea bites. truly a charming little book; i read it in about 2-3 hours, and promptly purchased it for my tea-loving, victorian-mansionette-dwelling best friend for his christmas gift. i should just buy a copy for myself right now so i can have it & read it whenever i feel like it.

It was exactly what I was expecting!

I stayed at the Ritz London several years ago and enjoyed my experience of High Tea there. Tea, the room, service and food were spectacular. I was so happy to find this book, so that I can try to replicate my experience at home.It has many wonderful recipes and tips for making tea, as well as information about tea.I highly recommend.

I think this book was intentionally shrunk, it should be more substantial. It includes a good variety of recipes and descriptions of teas. There's also some interesting tid-bits about tea history. Personally I liked it, tea at the Ritz is still to this day one of the top tea services in London. Teatime. Cheers!

This is a great little book with a plethora of wonderful recipes. Well worth the small cost!

What a charming fun book!! - If you like historical recipes, this is your cup of tea -HAHA!! This is not a new-fangled deconstructed whatever, but classic wonderful, satisfying recipes. Just charming. If you like Victoriana and tea, and tasty treats....well there you go!

I like reading through this book and it gave many good ideas. There is no more to say, but I must input more blablabla.

Une lecture très agréable pour tous les anglophiles et amateurs/connaisseurs de thé. Avec des petites recettes bien sympathiques. Très agréable à donner en cadeau aux bonnes personnes qui sauront l'apprécier.
