Superb Pine Bookcase Offered at a Very Reasonable Price
For those who need a bookcase to hold both small and medium-sized books--with room on top for larger volumes, this simple and sturdy pine bookcase is better than most products of its kind on the market, dollar-for-dollar. I recently bought one, and I've assembled it easily. The stain is well done overall. It is not a "refined" piece of furniture (don't expect a bookcase finished with multiple sandings with extra fine sand paper and multiple layers of stain or sealer). But it matches well my other pine bookcases made by my father years ago. I could not be happier with this purchase; I just ordered a second one. This product is so much better than the typical particle board bookcase found in large retail stores. There's nothing like genuine pine to hold one's books, and the size is just perfect for small spaces, too. Update (10/13/22): Both bookcases are in my upstairs hallway and hold cherished volumes of children's literature and music books. I chose the walnut stain for both bookcases, and assembled them carefully, occasionally using my drill to put in a longer screw where it felt like it would help. The bookcases are solid, and the walnut stain has a bit of a shiny sheet to it. Each time I pass by them, I grin just a bit, because they fit right in with all my other pine bookcases that I have had for years. I like the rustic feeling, and I still feel that they are a very good value for the money. I may purchase another one in the future, or contact the company to build a narrower one for a smaller wall downstairs. Update: 04/03/2023--I continue to be very happy with the two rustic pine bookcases I purchased last year for my upstairs hallway. I just purchased a third one for my downstairs writing studio, and it arrived today. This new bookcase will allow me to have books just steps away from my reading/writing desk and computer. I plan to purchase a fourth custom-made one for a slightly smaller space in my writing studio. This is a great company offering a simple and well-made rustic pine bookcase. I could not be happier with my purchases, and am looking forward to purchasing from them again in the future.

Disappointment
I've wanted to buy one of these bookcases for several years now, and I wanted to love it, but I hesitated because of the price and because of drawbacks other reviewers mentioned: non-adjustable shelves and shelves so close together no books larger than a trade paperback could stand on them. However, I needed a shallow depth bookcase or cabinet for our water closet, which has no storage at all.Because of the very small size of the room, the item had to be 12" or less in depth.PROS:1. This bookcase was well packaged inside a quality cardboard box . The bookcase was totally enveloped in bubble wrap, and it also was padded with styrofoam corners to protect them from damage.2. The instructions were excellent and were accompanied by pictures. Even better, each board that had to be attached to the body was marked as "top" or "btm," and arrows were drawn on the underside of the boards to indicate clearly that the back of the board had one screw in the middle and the front of the board had two. We just had to match the pattern of the holes on the board to the holes on the body of the bookcase. The seller took extra trouble to make the instructions clear (see first two pictures), and I appreciated it.3. The "Baby Aqua" color is delightful, and I knew I'd be buying this bookcase when I saw it.4. I like the fact that the bookcase is made of actual wood, not cardboard, not MDF, not plywood, but wood, even if it is pine, not a hardwood.5. Finally, I like that this piece is made in America.CONS:1. The wood is splintered on one side where the cross piece is attached to the side, but it wasn't a game changer because it was on the bottom and didn't show. Still, I was surprised at the poor carpentry skills displayed.2. The top board was a little warped, which led to a bit of difficulty in getting it screwed flat to the body. Again, I was surprised that more care wasn't taken.3. Once the top board is screwed to the body, the screw holes have to be plugged. Little wooden plugs, already painted, were included. Despite some enthusiastic hammering and a coat of paint (a pot being included), all nine plugs are visible on the top of the bookcase--all of them. They make the bookcase look really tacky (see picture 3).4. Finally, the front edge of the top piece has a dip or divot in it, where the saw must have slipped. Thus, the edge is uneven (see picture 4). This is another visible flaw that bothers me every time I walk past the bookcase.Overall, I am disappointed.

Accurate description
I wish the shelves were longer. Other than that it’s really pretty. Reference the measurements, they’re accurate 👍

Rock solid; clear and convenient assembly
One caution: as you can tell from the photos, then shelves are too short for tall books. Duh! But shouldn’t be a surprise. The construction is great. The holes were drilled very accurately, so I was able to line them up precisely when I had to screw on the little top and bottom pieces. The bookcase arrives fully assembled, except the top and bottom pieces, which I assume they left off because they’d be prone to breakage during shipping. It’s just a matter of a couple of screws, and the plugs that they give you to hammer and match perfectly, so unless you’re really really looking, you never notice afterward. This is not “flat pack furniture.”I’m very pleased with this, especially considering that for comparable prices you usually end up with particleboard that you have to put together yourself. They even thoughtfully included a little jar of touchup paint, so that if it ever does get scuffed I’ll be able to correct the damage.Highly recommended.
