Scratch & Sketch Extreme (Trace Along)

This book is fun to do. The pictures come out looking so cool!

Found this mesmerizing. It is my go to when I need to unwind. Not only is it relaxing & patterns are complex enough to keep you occupied but you also have added benefit on rough days of getting to scratch away your frustration. Unlike coloring books all supplies are included. No need to carry around coloring supplies & find a place to spread them out. Toss book in your bag & you are ready to go. If you want to color opposite every sketch is a page to color which I am also enjoying.Another huge advantage is unlike foil it doesn't tear. You can use different strength to add artistic touch.** Reccomend doing them backwards forward since it you don't have gentle touch it effects other pages. After you do the art don't notice.Really hope they make more of the Extreme Scratch & Stetch !!You can use tool it comes with. I prefer to hold a thinner wooden tool so I took one from another Scratch & Draw that I had & sharpened it with a nail file bc wanted very fine point

My kids LOVE these books! They are a great alternative to having to bring coloring g books and markers everywhere. They are great for car rides, restaurants or just a quiet activity.

Rather than the wooden stylus that it comes with, do yourself a favor and get one of the plastic and metal ones (shown in the picture). You won't have to keep sharpening the wooden one and it's a lot more precise. I would gladly pay a few dollars more for this book if it came with a better stylus. But don't get me wrong, the pictures in the book are beautiful and it's a great way to unwind after work. I'll be buying other ones.

I love this one so much that I bought it twice. Don't get me wrong, I like the other scratch and sketch books from this manufacturer but this one is by far my favorite. The other books are geared more towards kids where this one is definitely more for older children and adults. They also just put out another "extreme" scratch and sketch book that I can't wait to get my hands on but that's another review. The pages seem to have a thicker coating that can be a bit more difficult to scratch but I keep a variety of scratchers and sharpen them with an emory board. I actually like the thicker coating because I can slide it into my bag and be reasonably sure that it won't get damaged unlike others that have a very flimsy binding with tissue paper between the pages. In short, if you are an adult looking for hours of relaxation on the go, look no further. If you are buying for a teenager, go for it. If you are looking to keep young kids peacefully occupied, pick one of the other excellent books in this series but not this one.

These books are amazing. I buy them whenever they go on sale. I have at least two copies of all the “extreme” series, if not more. They are the only ones I have found, that come with a great tool and not a useless wooden stick. I have given many as gifts and everyone has loved them. They scratch well and every page has a nice glitter glitter page under the black paint with an equal number of the silver, gold or multicolored pages. Some are even green. There is also a nice range of difficulty levels. I use a very fine sand paper to lightly sharpen the tool when it starts to get dull so there is no need to buy extra tools. There is nothing negative that I can say about these books. If you are on the fence about the Scratch & Sketch Extreme, just buy it, it’s a great way to decompress.
