Solid and Handsome .. Town or Country. This is a good looking , well made boot.
I love this boot. Mexico always excels in leather making. Taking awhile to break in but good leather always does. The description says order a size SMALLER than your sneaker size but I donβt take advice well and went with my gut; I ordered the EXACT same size as my normal shoe and they fit perfect. They also have 1/2 sizes and WIDE which a quality maker will provide for a good fit. This is a very good quality boot and they look and feel great. The soles stick well on my gravel drive and Iβm thinking they could do well on the barn dance floor if thereβs plenty of sawdust down. I just need an invitation.. but not holding my breath.π

Four Hundred Dollars Of Shoes
This review will immediately tell you these shoes (boots) are quality. If I bought two pairs, that means the first pair are immaculate. I bought a pair of brown president and a black pair of captains. They are all leather, except the heel and sole, witch are high quality and goes perfectly with the shoe itself. This is the type of shoe that I had as a child, all leather. A very significant thing is, all the inside of the shoe is lined with a glove soft high quality leather. I mean ALL the inside. I am still breaking them in. However, these shoes were not hurtful on your feet right out of the box. I have had them for a week or so and they are becoming more comfortable every day. 200 dollars a pair for shoes are very expensive for me. This is the most that I have ever paid for a pair of shoes. However, after I bought the shoes I have discovered that they're worth every penny. They are described to the exact and are pictured to the exact, on the seller's page. The materials and craftsmanship are of the highest quality. I'm advising you for all fact: the sizing of the shoes run BIG. Maybe I haven't had a real pair of shoes in such a long while, the high quality shoes are a true size compared to a cheap shoe made of manmade materials in China. They are 1 size to 1 and 1/2 size larger than what you normally use. If you use a size 9, order a 7 and 1/2. Once you get the size right, I truly don't believe that you could buy a better made shoe at any price. I hope that I have helped you to get an understanding of what these shoes are like. I can honestly tell you that, I have found NO fault with these shoes in any aspect...

Got many compliments, however, they are not perfect
Got a pair in Brown over a month ago. I really like them and I get compliments on them more often than with any other shoes I have owned before, even random people on the street. However, they are not perfect. Honest thoughts: -The look: great, a bit dressier than your regular captoe. Clean lines, and sharp. I think that is what make people like them and offer compliments on them. From a random lady in the elevator the other day: "I wasn't gonna say anything, but man, those are some really nice looking boots". Conversation starter right there. -The fit: I usually wear 9.5 in sneakers and ordered a pair in size 9, following the company's advice. They fit well lengthwise, but the right boot feels narrower than the left, making the it a bit uncomfortable. I am hoping this will go away once the boot breaks in. No space for extra insoles in this case, if you want extra insoles, or thicker insoles, order your regular size. -The confort: they are rather stiff. Again, I am hoping this goes away once the boot break in. Other people say they feel like sneakers, but I don't think they feel remotely like that, at least not yet. -The weight: they are heavy. Get ready for a different sensation when you wear them, if you are coming from lightweight shoes. -The color: it looks more like burgundy in some lights, which is great, I think that gives the boots some character. If they scratch, that will reveal the underlying color, which I believe is the natural leather color, so it will contrast. -Some people complaint about creases, but my pair is doing ok for now. I don't have shoes trees, but I do avoid stepping on them. -The laces: they are stiff, I may change them at some point.

Great quality. Great looking.
I wanted a pair of suede Chelseas, watched lots of YouTube videos, read lots of posts, and settled on a pair of Dukes by Thursday Boots. Sadly, I've got a narrow foot (B width) & they just wouldn't work though I tried three different sizes & thought about using tongue pads. Having seen the quality of Thursday Boots firsthand, I decided a lacer might work for me. I settled on the President with the plain toe rather than the Captain with the cap toe because I liked the look. And the Mocha Weather Safe Suede on this pair has a great look and feel right out of the box. And being a lace up boot they fit my narrow foot well with very little heel slip even brand new. Can't wait until I get them broke in to experience them being even more comfortable. Thursday Boots are legit. I'll be buying more.

I'd love to give them 5 β BUT!
UPDATED 4-16-2024: Since March 21st until April 16 I've been breakin these things in and I can finally wear them barefoot (which means they r broken in ). That was a long time. please see later pictures of my blisters an then wearing bare foot. That was a long torturous month but I really like these boots. Obviously I do really like theses boots π’. UPDATED 4-17-2024: yes ! They r very comfortable but that was a long "break in "period". They r finally like walkin around barefooted. I got some great leather laces as u can c in the last pictures plus if u can c I strategically placed some knots in the laces so I can tight the laces but keep the lower boot loose.I learned this trick years ago and it really helps keep my bunions from hurting, ALL DAY! LOL π Hey if it works its good. Which, by the way I dont feel any pinching at all anymore with these boots. Blah blah blah give these boots π’ a break in period and u will be satisfied. I haven't put any conditioners on them yet but now that thier broken in thats next. I suggect NOT to put conditioner OR waterproofing on these until they are broken in. U need the moisture (sweat π¦) from ur feet to help form the boot around ur feet, then do what u think is best. Im close to 70 yrs old and this is how we broke in shoes back in the 50's. We had no conditioners back then other them mink oil and let it be known that mink oil rancifies so it really stinks after only a year. thats why I dont use it. Do what u must. ORIGINAL REVIEW: The reviewers that say they don't need breaking in must wear horrible shoes. These need to be broken in. Back 30 years ago to break in our hiking boots we would either soak the boots or walk thru a river then wear them until the dried. I stil thing thats the best way but at my agr I dont want to wear wet boots for a week. Lol π so I'll have to do it the painfully slow method. O well but my point is is that tjey do need to be broken in. They are not that bad butβ¦ anyway I love the style, I like the toes & body of my shoes/boots to be made of one piece. These fit the bill. Ok fit, I have mutatious feet where as my right foot is about one size smaller then the left foot and about "normal" in width. My left foot has arthritis and is like a dbl E wide. I hate my feet and I hate shoe companies that dont accommodate me. Lol π right! Ha ha ha. So I must size my shoes according to my left foot. At my age my left foot is now a 11.5 EEE while my right foot is 11D. How's that for mutant feet. (Don't look at my feet in public). But anyway I did order a pair @ 12.5 wide and they fit my left foot well. A very little pinching the for 4 days now but even wearing them for just 4 hours that pinch will hopefully disappear in aweek or so since its still winter. If we were in summers heat I bet theyd break in in a week. So in other words I ordered one size up and they fit well for a EE foot . ill just wear 2 pair of socks to take up the "slop" in my rigjt shoe/boot. Im used to that. Sometimes I have to waer 3 or 4 layers of socks to fill the void in my right shoe/boot. Im used to that too. One more grip if u'll hear me out. Its semi academic but @ $200 u would think the would suply real leathe shoe laces. Ive been wearing thes for 4 hours now and I've retied the freakin bood 5 times. they donβt stay tied, I don't care it they r kevlar they r coming off and will be replaced with real leather laces. Thats just stupid to have laces constantly untieing. Now ill be buying my own laces. Im paying $30 for round leather laces so thats another "hidden" cost of these boots. (To the manufacturer) put laces on that are worthy of the boot NOT "just so they look good). A small but VERY important aspect of these (or any) boots. One more note, on the latter pics the boots have been conditiond with "regular" keather conditioner so thats why they appear darker. Not by much but they r darker. C 4 urself.

Personal Favorite Shoe
Personal favorite shoe. I bought one pair on a whim year or so back, and this brand has become my number one. I bought two of the same shape of shoe in different colors, as well as matching leather jackets from Thursday, because they just work so well. 100/100, will continue to shop with Thursday for as long as I can.

After a long search I found THURSDAY BOOTS!!
After spending two weeks of research and buying and trying on several other boots, I am so glad I found Thursday Boots. Due to Amazon's amazing Prime service and free returns, I tried the following boots: - Rockport Classic Break Cap Toe Boot - Steve Madden Seymour Winter Boot - Eastland High Fidelity Chukka Boot - Madden Basket Chelsea Boot - Timberland City 6 inch Side Zip Boot I wanted a classic lace up boot in black to wear with jeans, and selected the above because they all looked similar and had great reviews. They were either not substantial enough or looked like security guard boots. I wanted something rich looking but still manly and rugged. The above just didn't fit the bill, but once I opened the Thursday President boots I was like WOW. They are beautiful, so well made and seem like they will last for many many years. These cost twice as much or more as the other ones I tried, but $199 is still a relatively reasonable price for very nice shoes that will last a very long time. And if you compare these Thursday President boots to the WOLVERINE 1000 MILE boots (the only fair comparison), you will find that the Thursday Boots are about half the cost of the Wolverines and are just as cool and well made. PLUS the Thursday boots have a rubber sole on top of the leather sole for better durability and wet weather hold up. THESE ARE AMAZING BOOTS and one of the best purchases I have made in a very long time!

Well fitting, comfortable, good looking, but...
I thought it fair to post a review of these boots after a year of being my daily footwear. They have been worn nearly every work day in a mostly clean, professional environment and have approximately 500mi of wear and tear. Fit: The recommendation I had seen was to buy a half size up from your normal size, but I chose not to and that was the correct decision. For about a week, they felt a bit tight, but they quickly stretched and molded to my feet and I would say the fit is absolutely perfect. Materials: The leather is a bit fluffier than in the photos and the color, mocha, is a bit lighter. While it's not what I was expecting, it's still quite attractive. The leather and stitching have held up in their entirety. I was struck by the laces' thickness and expected them to fail quickly, but I was wrong. They are nearly in the same condition as original. The rubber sole seems to have worn normally and my only complaint would be that a different pattern would provide substantially more traction. But...: I expected to get about two years from these boots, but alas, they are at the end of life. The sole has cracked through both the rubber and leather in the transverse direction under the ball of my foot which became apparent in the last storm. While I do squat often, I would not expect this failure mode after one year. The extended cold weather may also be a contributing factor. All in all, I think they are pretty good boots, but I do have a decision to make regarding their replacement in the very near future.
