Turns out those glasses were great for taking on vacation and being able to drink beer out of a pint glass instead of a bottle/can in the hotel room, etc. - and no worries about glass breaking during travel or otherwise. I dropped one of the beer fest glasses after washing it at home and the edge chipped. I was really bummed. Chipped edge = not a fun drinking experience. We haven't been able to get back to that yearly festival for more of those glasses, so I searched Amazon for something similar. These are what I settled on and I love them. This is a set of 6, so if one happens to chip, I have replacements, but these are sturdier than the beer fest ones, so I don't see any chipping likely. These are great not just for travel, but also for backyard cookouts - having several means the whole family can use them, and no worries about broken glass if someone drops it or knocks it over (although some may say the bigger crime is spilling the beer). Still, with kids around, you don't want to deal with broken glass.
