Substrate works!
I was impressed when I opened my bag. Everything looked very fresh and moist. I have grown mushrooms before and I was relieved to see the moisture content. After I inoculated the block everything colonized fast and strong, it already has pins after just a couple of weeks!

Total disappointment.
Stay far away i am very disappointed in these mushroom bags.I invested a lot of time and money in these bags. Two already had mold in them already. They were very quick to send a replacement, I thought they were gonna send 2 but I only got one replaced. The new bag wasn't even made properly,It was all loose with grain just loosely sitting on top, I could tell this wasn't going to work just by looking at it. Sure enough it didn't even germinate. Now they stopped responding to my emails. I'm a mycologist I have a flow hood and I practice very sterile techniques. I wish I could just get a refund or even half.

Easier than I expected!!!
‘My wife and I are vegetarian and have been growing more and more of our own food at home as prices have shot up recently, So when a client of mine told us about mushroom kits I was pumped. I hadn’t done much research prior but I bought an oyster culture and started with this grow bag for the price was right. Surprisingly I thought this was going to be way more time consuming, but after a couple weeks its actually pretty straight forward, like you dont have to water or interact with it you just basically set it and forget it. I finished the ‘break and shake’ step from their instruction video and its seems to be moving along based on the examples, its been pretty fun and im learning a lot about mushrooms. I dont usually leave reviews but I read through these ones before I bought it cause I had no idea what I doing or what I needed but I’ll keep this updated as the kit keeps growing. Pink oysters are $16 a pound here if I can find em at a farmers market. hoping this works out well and can become another source of food for us.

Only good for manure loving mushrooms
I'm new to mushroom growing and didn't realize that the strains I'm working with don't like manure base. Therefore, the strain I inoculated did not grow. The product is good quality as is the packaging. The inoculation port is self healing and the FAE panel works well too.

First time using growing mushrooms
With several mushroom supplies from numerous sellers, I decided to try my hand at this one and I am glad that I did. I followed the directions that was in the initial product description on Amazon (video from the company) and it worked better than I had expected. In the video, the company spokesman says to expect mycellium growth in 2-4wks, however I noticed first signs at 7days. 5wk in and I have harvested my first flush of mushrooms and estimated wet weight is maybe 1/2 pound. After my harvest, I have put the mushroom block in a sizable box since I had to cut the bag to get the first flush out. Maybe the block will continue to produce, maybe not. However I am glad that I took the chance with this company's product and I will continue to do so in the near future.

All I have is mold
I thought I would give this product a try.. I should have known better.. I examined the bag carefully, and at the time thought.. I should send this back, it can't possibly germinate! Why would I say this? Because the grains needed for germination were not separated from the substrate.. matter of fact, I could hardly see any grains.. just black substrate.. but I had my syringe of spores ready to go.. big mistake! I'm ten days in.. no mycelium but it's clearly molding.. and now I can see some of the grain as it seems to be the main culprit of the mold... No it's not germination. it's Mold! And unfortunately it's clear.. if you use the port to inject your spores, you've voided the warranty.. live and learn! So if you do buy this product.. and you don't clearly see grain at the bottom of the bag and clearly see the the black substrate at the top of the bag.. send it back! You'll be wasting your time!I've used premade germination bags before and never had a mold problem.. I have everything sterilized.. I follow all sanitary protocols.. and I haven't even opened the bag.. so the mold has to be coming from their product..

They do work, but are packed way too tight
First off my spores did work in these bags, but I did a side by side comparison with three other brands and these were the slowest by a full 2 weeks. They were all the same spores from the same place. The other 3 I reviewed these with were all pure grain, so that explains it somewhat. These bags were sterile and did work, but are packed way too tightly. I appreciate the services this seller is offering and their substrate does work. Due to the fact that you could likely get more flushes out of one of these than a pure grain bag, i would recommend this product for those fruiting in bags. If you are spawning to bulk, stick to pure grains for speed or at the very least, PRIOR to injecting, break bag up so it can breathe then after 30% colonized break it up again. If these were packed less tight I think they would have been much faster. So possibly my error.

High quality mix, produced plenty of healthy mushrooms
This company is very professional and they are gifted. These bags are a great deal and the customer service is good. Make sure you read the instructions carefully. My bag colonized really well but I forgot to break and shake the colonized material and the bag “stalled out” and a small part of the substrate did not colonize, but I ended up getting plenty of healthy fruits still.I would order from them again.
