Piranha Y Peeler with Serrated Stainless Steel Blade, Green, 6.25 inches

About 2 years ago, my daughter sent me one of these peelers. Other than the fact that I almost cut the top of my finger off with the first use, I LOVE IT! It definitely needs respect and care when using it. Last week, a friend and I were canning pumpkins and using my peeler...she had peeler envy. Of course. So, I bought another one to give to her. I know she will be excited to get. My only conflict is wanting to keep the new one for me, and give her my old, used one. Strictly aesthetics, it still works great. But, that's rude so she'll get the new one. It has continued to work perfectly, no rust, still sharp, clearns well and is built to last. It's very satisfying to use on both the outer peel and inside of pumpkins. Skip the cheaps knock-offs and buy this one. It's worth the price and you'll have it for years. (Just watch your fingers)

The best peeler I've ever used! It is super sharp and the serrated ridges on one of the blades makes it effortlessly peel anything smooth as butter and wont dull. Its almost identical to the much more expensive Pampered Chef peeler. I want 2 more of these in case I misplace one.

Kuhn Rikon produced excellent kitchen tool. I have been using this particular peeler over 12yrs still sharp and easy to use. Bought 7 of them as Christmas presents for friends and family

My Oxo peeler was my go-to standard because it has an ergonomic handle that makes it easy to hold. I've owned lots of peelers in my lifetime, and it cut as well as any other. I just assumed that peeling anything was one of those chores that one had to go through to get to the fun part of cooking. Then I met the Piranha, which I ordered after reading a review in one of my cooking magazines. Wow! That was my first reaction. The only thing that would make this better is if the peeler did the job without me. It shaves cheese and chocolate and strips the peel off fruits and vegetables (including squash) with ease and very little effort. I now realize the problem with every other peeler I've had is that they're just not sharp enough, requiring much more force than necessary. Oh, and I did worry about the handle, which is much narrower than my Oxo's. I've cooked (and baked) professionally, and ended up with a bit of arthritis, so a larger handle always made sense. But this works beautifully, precisely because it requires so little force to use it. Yes, I'm now in peeling/paring heaven and I'll never go back! I also purchased this for family members and they're just as happy as I am. And the colors are vibrant and fun.

Great product. Bought one years ago in Europe and was so glad found it on Amazon. It’s comfortable and so easy to use.

This is a great little vegetable peeler, however, it is DANGEROUSLY SHARP. It can (did) remove a fingertip. This is essential to know prior to using. Definitely not safe for use by children helpers in the kitchen.

I have used every variety of veggie peeler there is in my 60+ years in the kitchen and admit that most are pretty much the same as far as getting the job done. Tossing one cheapo variety after another as they wore out. Never thought much about the design of the peeler. Till now. Recently needed a new one and was disgusted at how cheaply made they seem to be now for the price stores were asking. One of the people I used to work with sent me a review ot the top peelers and these were listed on it. Thinking it was some strange joke I bought it anyhow. And I must say it is everything they article said. Easier to use, faster to use, and able to peel more than just your basic spuds. (able to peel your finger to if you get sloppy going fast.) So all in all I am now hooked on these Y-style peelers. Best of all, when it eventually gets dull it's cheap enough to still be money well spent, as I order another.

It’ll take skin off your fingers if you’re not careful but it is the best peeler in the world. This is the second one now as my first one that I’ve had for years ive lost somewhere 🤷🏻‍♀️ (or someone else has put it somewhere!!)

It seems odd to write a review on a "vegetable peeler" but not all peelers are created equally and so when I find a good one it is important to share that information. I made this peeler purchase because of the width of the blade; less passes over larger surfaces. This peeler is light but sturdy and the blade is sharp and wide. The peeling action is smooth and consistent. I have purchased brand name peelers where the swivel construction of the blade is off-balance and each new pass causes the blade to bite into the vegetable taking a chunk out of the flesh. This Kuhn Rikon Y-peeler is a smooth operator.
