Almost Perfect Winter Photography Gloves
I've been searching high and low for convertible mittens that are also full gloves and touchscreen compatible for winter photography and videography. These HotHands are almost the perfect solution but could use a couple improvements. For one, I ordered the Large/X-Large size for my large hands. The gloves are definitely not XL as my hands feel cramped in the gloves. The thumb is especially odd in that the inner glove seems much smaller than the outer fleece, leaving the thumb very difficult to use on my camera as there's extra, floppy fleece material beyond where my thumb actually is.As for warmth, they're OK. I just got back from a video shoot at 24°F which is on the warm end of the temperature I've been shooting at this winter. My left hand was in "mitten mode" and was warm enough whereas my right hand was in "glove mode" to control my camera and nearly froze off. Granted, the inner glove isn't supposed to be insulated, but I'm starting to wonder if the inner glove has any value at all.The touchscreen fingertip on the index finger does work on my Google Pixel 4 XL. However, the sloppy thumb is not touchscreen compatible, so if you need to do any "pinching" on the screen, you'll still need to take the gloves off.The only other convertible mitten with a full internal glove I've found is the Treeline eMitt which cost twice as much as these mittens and is a much more robust mitten. However, the touchscreen finger didn't work on my Google Pixel and so I had to return them.

Fit
I work in the middle of nowhere Wyoming as a road construction flagger. I must work in all types of weather.I saw the finger mittens by Hothands & decided to given them a try.The first thing I noticed was that the index finger on the right glove was deformed & required extra care to get my fingers in the correct holes. These gloves are "one size fits all" which is why I wouldn't recommend for gift giving. While they did keep my hands warmer than other hand covers I had tried, I felt like I had Mickey Mouse hands & took them off frequently. These would be a great option if sitting around a camp fire but I see potential issues due to sizing if working in a cold enviroment with your hands & tools. Or even winter sports that require use of your hands, especially mechanized toys or skis.Over all disappointed in the construction & fit. I would not recommend.

must be kids size
I bought these for myself. I wear a xlarge size 11, I'd say xl is a med. these barly fit my wife. I thought maybe I'd keep them for a gift but after looking them over I can't even figure out how to get the hand warmers in the little tiny slot they sewed. I use these kind of mitts all the time and believe me there are are lot better ones out there for the same price.

Use them all winter long
I live in the midwest and ride my bike all year long. These are comfortable, work well riding my bike, and kept my hands toasty even down to 29 degrees F with the chemical warmers.

Avoid magnets in mittens
When the mitt cover is folded back it’s held in place by a magnet. That magnet seriously affects a handheld compass (but not an iPhone). If you want a fold-back mitt cover get one with velcro, not a magnet.Only the index finger is touchscreen compatible. That means you can’t use pinch or multiple finger gestures. The pocket that holds the hand warmer is not secure and the warmer can fall out if you have the mitt cover folded back.OK, for the money, but just OK.

Good glove for some uses.
I would not purchase this mitten\glove if you are planning on using it for an application that requires moderate to significant hand use and dexterity. I purchased these gloves for winter photography, where I need to press a variety of buttons and operate dials on the camera. Basically, I just ended up taking them off every time I needed to touch the camera, which completely defeats the purpose. The magnet that is supposed to hold the mitten flap to the back of the glove is way to weak. This allows the mitten cover to flop around and it is constantly in the way. In addition, there is also a material flap both in front of and in behind the fingers (so that you can put a hand warmer in front of and/or behind your fingers). This front flap also gets in the way constantly. Further, this front material flap does not remain tucked in when the mitten cover is closed. This often leaves the fingers exposed to the elements (although the fingers are still covered by the glove portion of the product, just exposed to the elements). Lastly, there is no way to secure the hand warmers in place-- so, they fall out of the gloves constantly and get lost. I went through double the number of hand warmers that I should have.If your plan is to use these gloves in a situation where you can get them situated and leave them alone for most of the time you are outdoors (e.g., watching an outdoor sporting even where you may want to operate your phone once or twice during the event), then I can see where they would be adequate. However, if you need to use your hands regularly or frequently, these are definitely NOT the gloves to use.

Gimmicky
Probably great for dog walking, or maybe sitting in the stands for outdoor winter events. Probably ice fishing too. Not for someone working outside with their hand doing just about anything. Not much in the way of a palm grip. Would be great if the whole hand surface was leather or rubber dotted for grip and water resistance. After all the Hot Hands pouches are for like 8 hours, like a work day.

Just about "GREAT!"
When I am walking outside during the winter, my hands are ALWAYS cold. I have tried the Hot Hands hand warmers in other gloves and thought these would be THE PERFECT SOLUTION! NOT QUITE! The "flaps" across the fingers keep flipping open and the hand warmers kept slipping out ... very frustrating! SO ... I bought a package of TOE WARMERS which have a sticky side and stay in place ... if your ARE using them in your socks. I slipped one in each Hot Hands glove, closed the flap over the fingers and ... SUCCESS! The warmers stay in place and my fingers are toasty!

Good idea, but not the perfect execution
Are they warm? Yes they can handle the cold! Loading them with two each of the warmer packs generates enough heat for even the coldest XC skiing days. What needs improvement is the flap to convert them to mitts, that needs to be longer to make sure it covers the finger gloves properly. OR one could apply a Velcro closure to the flap the covers the fingers and the mitt.PS The modification with the Velcro works absolutely, perfectly even when the black variety isn't on hand.

Gloves with a heater pocket
They work perfectly fine as gloves with a fold over mitten to keep your fingers warm. The pocket for the hand warmer is a nice touch, but I can't say it is significantly better than a pair of gloves with the warmer inside. Might be useful if your heaters are too warm against your bare skin, but that isn't really an issue with my warmers or maybe it's my thick skin from manual work. I wanted to try them out and I'm not unhappy, but I wouldn't go out of my way for the extra functionality.

very warm even without the heat packs
I bought this for the heat packs as I cycle into the colder months, but when you pop your fingers back into the "pocket" it's super warm even without the heat packs. So far a 1.5 hour bike ride with these gloves in temperatures 2 or 3 degrees celsius is warm even without the heat packs. best pair of gloves for the price any day

Decent gloves. Strong winds cut through the material like butter.
These gloves are reasonably warm but I found them to be ineffective when temperatures dipped below -15 Celcius or if there was a lot of wind. I believe that there should be an additional pouch on the top of the hand that can constantly provide warmness from a hotpack rather than only have it in the flap that covers your fingers.Overall they are decent.

Chaudes!
J’ai acheté ces mitaines pour mon conjoint qui a toujours les mains gelées. Il m’a confirmé que c’était la première paire de mitaines dans laquelle il n’avait pas froid! Je recommande!
