Really good piece of audio equipment if you are looking for good value then this is it!
was completely fed up of standalone speakers for my Mac and the poor quality of what (I thought) was a decent pair out of a well known electronic shop, I decided to give Ultimea a try. Already owning the entry level surround system for my main TV, I bought the 2.1 channel system to replace what I had plugged in to my Mac setup. Ok - first impressions, neat little unit offering USB, Bluetooth, Optical and aux cable inputs and an app to help you fine tune the audio to your liking. You can wall mount or as in my case, sling it under my monitor and still have access to the on unit controls - Plugged in and working straight out of the box - Initially connected via the supplied 3.5mm cable - no issues - Decided nah that's one too many wires - bluetooth connection to the Mac was pretty instant. Sound quality, ok I'm a bit of an audiophile so to say I was surprised is an understatement. - Crisp high notes (could be a litter crisper for my liking but I'm not complaining. - A decently punchy bass out of the sub. - A pretty decent dynamic sound - actually better stereo effect than the two stand alone speakers it replaced. Sometimes almost surround sound like if you are sitting in the right spot. - Ok this thing isn't massive but jeez it's got some power - haven't dared go full blast with it yet as I actually quite like my neighbours. definitely giving this 5/5 on value, styling, connectivity, sound quality and general ease of use - pretty darn decent bit of kit for the money. If all you are doing is replacing a speaker system for a pc or don't have a lot of room for a full 5.1 speaker kit, would definitely recommend.

A very impressive sound system!
First of all, it feels and looks discrete and very high quality. Here are the good points: It’s dead easy to connect, we have a Samsung smart telly, with an HDMI(ARC) socket, which connects with the HDMI lead they include. We could have used the optical lead, but then we would have had to use two remotes. This way, with ARC, the TV remote controls the sound bar system as well as the TV. The front speakers are on little tables a couple of feet either side of the telly, the rear subwoofer is behind the settee. The rear surround sound speakers plug into the sub woofer, which of course is wireless. This solved the problem of routing speaker wires from the telly round the room to behind the settee. The speaker wires they supply have phono connectors so it’s all very neat and simple, with no splicing needed. The sound is amazing. Our room is 15’ x 23’ and when we watch a film, the sound is all around, and above (somehow, and I don’t understand how), the bass is thunderous and shakes the room! The different options are excellent - with Bluetooth for streaming, and a comprehensive set of options on the remote control. Our previous system was a 100 watt Pioneer 5.1 and after eight years it gave up the ghost. This is better sounding and it certainly deals with those difficult-to-hear dialogues that sometimes plague us these days, when actors can’t be bothered to speak up clearly. The main bar, is so tidy and discrete it sits in front of the TV stand and really isn’t noticeable but, my goodness, the sound it puts out is brilliant! There are touch buttons discretely placed on top for volume up and down, on and off, and Bluetooth. There is a USB socket in the back and I’ve prepared some music selections on memory sticks which I put in to give us background music, or as a full performance, when it makes us feel as if we’re int he middle of the orchestra. The sound is clean and powerful. For ordinary TV, not films, we find the GAME setting best for us. Then there’s the iPhone app which allows us to customise and fine tune everything. We also have the main buttons on the app, replicating the ones on top of the bar. On this app, you can create and name customised settings that suit you, using the very comprehensive equaliser page, but they already include, Music, Game, Movies, Sport and Speech. On the remote control there is button not mentioned in the manual, and that synthesises surround sound for sources (like music on the USB stick) that don’t come with surround sound coding. This puts music all round you. There are no bad points. But there is one feature I would change: When it comes on and goes off, it plays a loudish ding dong sound, and I would like the option to silence it. Maybe an update will do that. This system is Chinese manufacturing excellence at it’s absolute best - it will never satisfy the ardent purists who want turntables and amplifiers with valves, but for the rest of us, it’s absolutely perfect.

Great sound, good quality, easy to set up. Bad android app leaves a nasty taste.
The good: The important bits are really good. The packaging did its job, the unboxing experience pleasant, and nice to have leads for all combinations. I chose to set mine up vertically and the stands work well. I'm using it via SPDIF/Optical for my desktop PC, both for gaming and music whilst I work. Both sound good and there's a good number of presets to make it easy to set it to your taste. I paid £99 for this in Q2 2025. I consider that fair value, and the quality of the components and the sound is noticably better than the £50 unit it replaces. The bad: 1. The Android app requires you to register for an account with Ultimea before you can configure the soundbar to change any settings. This means giving them your email address and even your date of birth before it will work. Why does Ultimea need my birthday? It's not alcoholic, it's not a weapon - just greedy information gathering for their benefit I strongly resent this and despite the quality of the unit, detract a star. One registered and logged in, the app has good functionality and a good UI, and once it's set up you can uninstall it and use the remote for daily operation. 2. No AAA batteries supplied for the remote. Even the cheapest Chinese product comes with them, so why not this mid-range soundbar? 3. It's not clear which speaker is left or right when setting them up vertically - it's not printed on them anywhere. I needed to use the picture of it assembled as a horizontal bar to figure that out. 4. There was an extended warrantee card included, but you have to scan the QR code to use it, there's no way to register using a desktop PC.

Great sound for the money - genuinely hard to beat at this price.
Works brilliantly as a desktop PC soundbar, with punchy, clear audio and an easy setup. The Android app pairs quickly and makes the whole process simple. Excellent value overall.

EXCELLENT VALUE
The ULTIMEA 5.1 Surround Sound System offers a surprisingly full home-theater experience at a budget-friendly price. Its setup includes a compact main soundbar, a wireless subwoofer, and two rear satellite speakers — a true “5.1” configuration that aims to bring immersive surround sound to your living room without the complexity (or cost) of a high-end receiver system. Sound Quality Immersion & Surround: For its price point, the system does a solid job creating a sense of directionality. The rear speakers add real spatial effects in movies, especially during action scenes, making it feel more cinematic. Bass: The subwoofer is powerful and delivers decent low-end punch. Thanks to ULTIMEA’s “BassMAX” tech, the lows feel controlled and not overly boomy — great for explosions and deep rumble without dominating the rest of the mix. Clarity & Dialogue: Vocals and dialogue are generally clear, particularly in the dedicated “Dialogue” mode. The mid-range is decent, though some users note a bit of a tinny or thin quality when turned up very high. Atmos / Surround Processing: While marketed with “Atmos” processing on some versions, it’s important to be realistic: there are no up-firing speakers, so it doesn’t deliver true 3D height effects like a dedicated Dolby Atmos system. Some of the surround comes from ULTIMEA’s algorithm (e.g. “SurroundX”) which transforms stereo input to a 5.1 feel. Build & Design The soundbar and rear speakers have a no-frills, functional design. Nothing too flashy, but they’re compact enough to fit under or beside a TV without dominating the space. The subwoofers shape means it can be tucked beside a piece of furniture. Setup is straightforward. According to the manufacturer, it supports simple plug-and-play connections for HDMI ARC, optical, RCA. There is an app that gives you EQ controls and several preset sound matrices, making it flexible for different content. Connectivity HDMI eARC / ARC for high-quality audio and ease of use with modern TVs. Bluetooth (5.3) for wireless music streaming. Wired options: optical in, 3.5 mm, RCA — gives versatility depending on your gear. Power & wiring: The rear speakers connect via wired connection to the subwoofer. uk.whatgeek Pros Excellent value: For a full 5.1 system, this is much more affordable than many comparable surround setups. Real surround experience: Unlike many “soundbars + virtual surround,” this gives you discrete rear speakers. Flexible EQ and app control: Ability to tailor sound to your preferences. Good bass: Subwoofer delivers solid lows without being overbearing. Relatively easy setup: No need for a full AV receiver; simpler to get going. Given the price, quality control can vary — some users suggest checking early and keeping the return window open. Use Case & Suitability This system is best suited for: Budget-conscious home cinema users who want legitimate surround sound without spending on a full AV receiver setup. Living rooms or small-to-medium sized rooms (ULTIMEA recommends around 20–35 m² for their 5.1 systems). Ultimea Gaming setups: The 5.1 surround provides a good spatial audio experience for games. Movie watching: Especially effective for cinematic content that benefits from surround effects. Overall Verdict The ULTIMEA 5.1 Surround Sound/System (Poseidon D50) is a seriously good value proposition for anyone stepping up from TV speakers but not ready (or willing) to invest in a full AV setup. It doesn’t match high-end systems in terms of refinement or raw power, but its real surround speaker setup, decent subwoofer, and flexible EQ make it a very compelling option for budget home theater.

Well worth the price for a mid range speaker set. This is a review for the sound bar and subwoofer.
This is a review for the sound bar and subwoofer., the reason i point that out when i bought it the review were for every speaker they made. For the price I think its great, its an affordable sound with subwoofer, I would say middle of the road I like the app as I can set the idle time to 1 hour or always on etc etc. it feels like a well made product. very simple to set up the sound bar came in to pieces and just click them together (do not click the together while plugged in) Ive made it my main pc speaker, Note * it does not come with an optical cable, so keep that in mind. it fits under my monitor perfectly. the remote is handy but you can do it all on your phone which is also pretty cool. Im happy with it so far time will tell

Great Sound and Bass
Wow, what an amazing sound. Crystal clear, brilliant bass and great overall cinematic experience. Very easy to set up and the sound can be fine tuned via the app. Looks good too. Highly recommend, it’s the best sound bar/subwoofer we’ve ever had and a really good price.

Ok but has issues
I nearly returned this item. bought it on the understanding the rear speakers were wireless (Aura A40) they are not, they require a power source where the old 5.1 system speakers i replaced with these were fully wireless, iv since realised that a 7.1 system cant really have completely wireless speakers, well not within my budget! So i ended up keeping these and worked around the issue. As for the sound quality, its ok i guess, nothing mind blowing imo, but its fairly cheap. When i comes to the app, i have had issues like it seems most people have!? I am an Apple user so dont know of its just device incompatibility or a wider issue but its pretty frustrating, nobody wants to open an item that requires customer service as soon as you try to use it! from what others have said its absolutely worth the trouble because the remote that comes with this is basic and i believe the app gives you much more options, i haven’t chased this up yet, but it seems they need to do something so customers dont have to go through this process just to get access to the app! Overall, would i recommend? Hmm… yeah probably, because like i say its cheap for a 7.1 but dont expect “cinema sound” or anything like that, but its good enough for my requirements. BUT SORT THE APP OUT!
