We ended up purchasing one of these for both my wife's car, and my new truck. They work fabulously! I also have cut off small pieces which I use when throwing pottery on my pottery wheel. These have multiple uses! They're also good for cleaning eyeglasses! The thickness is very good, not too thin or thick. Since this is actual hide, it should be quite durable. It absorbs the water well, after wetting it down at the carwash (or at my pottery wheel).

I know the old shammy used in the 60's they were yellowish tent and had a texture to them ...this is smoother thinner than the old shammy but it is useable. WET the shammy first then you dry your auto ...spotless ....so for 7$ it will work

My preferred protector/polisher for brass instruments is genuine chamois. I have one that is 50 years old and has stood the test of time. This one is genuine, but not quite a nice as my old one ... it's a bit rougher, but might soften up with use. We'll see.

Excellent drying and shining at the same time. It doesn’t leave any trace. It dries very quickly. The car always looks like new. The beauty about this item is that when you clean the car with it it stays looking like just washed longer than usual. For me that is a plus.
