Bought a Second One Because the First Held Up So Well
This is actually the second one of these umbrellas I’ve purchased, which probably says the most about how good it’s been. I originally bought one for myself a few years ago and it has held up extremely well over time, so I picked up another one for my wife. The overall build quality feels noticeably better than the cheap travel umbrellas that tend to break after a few storms. The materials feel sturdy, the frame has held up well, and it still opens and closes smoothly after years of use. It feels solid in the hand without being overly heavy. One thing I really like is the size. Even though it’s considered a travel umbrella, it provides good coverage and actually keeps me out of the rain instead of feeling too small and cramped like some compact umbrellas. The fabric and construction also feel durable enough for regular use. It doesn’t feel flimsy or disposable, which is probably why the first one lasted so long. Pros * Very good build quality * Holds up well long term * Good rain coverage for a travel umbrella * Compact enough to carry easily * Opens and closes smoothly * Durable materials and frame Cons * Slightly larger/heavier than ultra-compact travel umbrellas * Price may be a little higher than generic options Final Thoughts This has been one of the better umbrellas I’ve owned, especially considering how well the first one held up over multiple years. Reliable, durable, and actually large enough to be useful in real rain. Easy recommendation from me. Who It’s For Great for travelers, commuters, or anyone wanting a compact umbrella that still provides real coverage and doesn’t feel disposable after a few uses.

Great umbrella, but here’s what stood out
Most travel umbrellas are either compact or sturdy—this one manages to be both. It fits easily in a backpack without feeling flimsy, and the canopy is large enough to actually keep your shoulders dry. The automatic open/close button works smoothly, and the frame handled windy conditions without turning inside out. If you commute or keep an umbrella in your bag every day, this is worth the extra few dollars over the cheapest options.

Hard to open and close
Seems sturdy enough, a bit hard to open up and close if you have any motor issues or hands the don't work great, but otherwise they seem great!

Great quality and features.
This is by far the best compact umbrella I've ever used. Push the button and it pops open and the quality of the material and the structural support quality are evident in an instant. Another button push and it collapses instantly and an easy push into the handle and your done. Very impressive.

BEST TRAVEL UMBRELLAS; LASTS LONGER THAN AVERAGE
Best portable umbrella ever! Gone through many umbrella brands. But these Repels last longer than any other, at least a year or two; better than the Totes. Carry one in my backpack for daily use; you never know when its gonna rain here in NYC or if if gets too hot, shield you from the hot sun. Use them for traveling in the country and overseas. Bought several of these as backup, as they do eventually break like anything else in our disposable society. But at least they last longer than average. Highly recommend.

Probably the best compact you can buy.
I think I've bought 5-7 of these and love em. They're in my car glove box, office drawer, I have them everywhere. Hell I'll even give them as gifts. A smart 5 yr old can open and close it and it's solid. Wife and 3 teens all have them in glove box.

O negócio virou um parapente tático e me arrancou do asfalto. Fiquei 100% aerotransportado. O guarda-chuva respondeu no milímetro. Recomendo.

Repel Automatic Folding Windproof Umbrella - Best!
After the last big spring storm a few months ago that totally destroyed our previous umbrellas, I resolved to buy two high quality umbrellas that can withstand the powerful winds that often happen in Portugal in the springtime. While the Repel brand umbrellas as a little bit heavier than other folding umbrellas, they are engineered to survive heavy winds. They are structurally stronger than cheap umbrellas, and their fabric tops are designed with overlapping slits in the top that "releases" wind that would flip the rainshield on other models. Worth the extra price.
