A little on the small side
They run a little on the small side and may be prone to shrinking after a few washes. We are going to reorder XL for an 11 year old but originally ordered L, which is a size up from last school year.

Great for those too thin for regular athletic pants
I buy these for my son. He's super thin so I was having trouble finding some to fit in length but also his super skinny waist. These worked! Good quality and comfortable.
