If you have an old ipod you will need to use the apple voice recorder as the recommended apps are now not longer compatible with the older firmware. Also, in order to get this to work I had to pull a pile of pocket lint out of the bottom of the headphone jack using a tooth pick. The jack connection is a bit flimsy, sometimes I have to twist the microphone in order to get it to make contact. However I shan't be using it much as it doesn't fit through the headphone socket opening in my acrylic case. Obviously this is not the fault of the product - rather of the case maker, or me not realising before buying it - but you might like to know this before purchasing. My case is a Gear4. I have cut it away at the back but don't want to do the same at the front as it would look bad and might break the seal.
