Explore the fascinating history of ancient civilizations in this 400-page book with detailed illustrations and a clear, structured format for a deep dive into the past. Review: A book? No. This is *The* Book. - This item has been on my wish list for months, but I could never quite justify the cost. However, thanks to generous relatives and a recent birthday, I've now got my copy and its everything I'd hoped for. I've not sat down for an in-depth read, so please bear in mind that this review is based on first impressions and initial leaf through. First off, The Book is gorgeous. It looks and feels very satisfactory with a tactile cover, and 'weathered' pages adding to the impression of some ancient tome. The illustrations are intricately detailed combining accurate technical information with flamboyant flourishes that blend traditional illumination with some sly pop cultural references and easter eggs. It arrived in excellent condition with its own storage box, and a post card from the creators, which serves as a handy bookmark; as another reviewer mentioned, if I had one quibble it would be the lack of a sewn ribbon marker but I'm not going to take off a star for that. I think that this is going to be a useful reference resource for years to come, and a nice one to just dip into occasionally. This is one of those items that is not 'only' a book, but a work of art, and its creators and contributors should be proud of what they have made. Review: Stunning book. - Stunning book, beautiful illustrations, great quality.

The restart to the human race? Maybe.... An incredible book!
Firstly it costs a few quid. I had been looking at this for quite a while and this is a great educational book and one to keep. If humanity dies, which is looking increasingly likely at the moment, this just might help! The packaging and the presentation it arrives in gives it an aura. After all, it's called "The Book" so has a lot to live up to. The book comes in a fancy folder and is very well protected, as it should be for the price. And It's heavy. The main event is the book. all I can say is wow. The paper is thick, which gives it an encyclopedia like feel. But it's designed to feel more ancient and it works well. It has a lovely thick feel as you touch and turn the pages. The hand-drawn illustrations are detailed, beautiful and almost victorian in style? Art isn't my forte but they are incredible and dominate each page. With the heavy weighting of the paper it amost feels like a manuscript. If society fails, can I use this book to rebuild it? Probably not but a beautiful book. Highly recommend.

Happy customer
Is it detailed? no, can you use it to build stuff? no, but the quality of the book to me is very good. I can sit down with my little ones and explain concepts through the written word and and pictures instead of them constantly looking at screens. So for me, its perfect, I ended up buying 2.

Worth every Penny! This book is brilliant, the artwork, the guides. It’s huge, it’s awesome, like reading an ancient manuscript but for modern times and modern inventions. So happy with this, would recommend to everybody!
