I've only used this once so far. . . But that worked very well. I put it together and got the fire running good before looking for the smokeless feature to kick in. It did look like it worked well. I noticed the smoke that came off wasn't the choking white kind, but a darker/black type smoke that disappated almost immediately. We had it going for a few hours. The bottom gets very hot. I thought it might so I put it on an old piece of plywood. I could tell it was burning the plywood so I put a bit of water at the bottom. I'd recommend putting it on some bricks or a surface you don't care if it gets really, really hot. The outside of the pit gets HOT. There's a fire in there of course it's going to. The smokeless holes along the top show flames shooting out of them, which is pretty cool to watch.Now Cleanup - So to colapse it down,you have to dump it out. I chose to do this on my grass and I'm glad I did. It was a bit messy, but I've heard ash is good for growing things??? So after a day or two and everything was cold, I dumped what I could in a 5 gallon bucket and then into a garbage bag. Some spilled. Use gloves. Dump into a container or garbage bag. Make sure it is cold or it'll catch fire again! Then I washed it all out, let it dry and packed it into the storage container or next time.

I was skeptical when shopping around for a smokeless fire pit, I opted for the larger unit, excellent price compared to others and the name brand units.when I unboxed it, first impression was that it is very light, metal seems to be thin, the insert piece doesn’t fit without some force, seems to be warped, don’t know if it was just from the shipping.but I have to say, after my first use, it seems to hold up pretty well, some discoloration is to be expected, I put in some fairly wet logs in the fire, didn’t even notice any smoke. with my old fire pit, same logs would have been too smoky to be around it within 10 feet radius and my clothes always stink of smoke.Highly recommend this unit if you’re shopping around for one.

I had my doubts on the smokeless firepits especially those like this one at an affordable price. Works great starts out with smoke but quickly goes away/very little. If you like to watch the logs burn you have to be right over the fire and looks down on it. Not ideal as I like to watch the logs burn but still enjoyable to watch the flames. It comes with a cover / carry bag which I was happy about, however it's a mesh and doesn't look at all like the one in the pictures. Certainly doesn't protect it from rain/weather. Water goes right in so plan on buying an actual cover if you leave it outside.Also know that smokeless depends on the wood you are burning. First fire I burned was most oak and the smoke stopped pretty quickly after lightning it. 2nd fire was all pine and it never stopped smoking. Can't stop pine smoke I guess.

Really nice little fire pit. When you get it going hot there isn’t any smoke. Easy to start and you can take the bottom pan off to dump and clean it easily.

Have been using this for a while now. I like how it’s lightweight so it’s very easy to move around. It does seem to reduce smoke and it make some really nice fires, very high and very hot. Even in the winter it’s easy to start a fire in it. Would recommend.
