Survivor: Cook Islands - The Complete Season (5 Discs)

Close at the end
As a Korean, I was rooting for Yul but I feel Ozzy was the winner who played with sincerity, heart, and self-reliance. Yul played well enough but finding the Idol was key for him and without it he wouldn't have won; in which case, Ozzy would've easily won instead of barely losing to Yul.

I like it when the good guys win!
Classic older Survivor, before the show became ultra cutthroat and competitive. Nice guys can win!

Made of the Right Stuff
I particularly enjoyed this season because the minority groups had a better than even chance of winning. Every season Survivor invites one and sometimes two African-American people to compete. Once an African-American make it to the final three. It was obvious that it was a joke. Most of the time the African-American or other minority is voted out early. Survivor strides to give everyone an even chance to win but the other contestants are so petty that the 'different person' never wins and rarely gets to the final three. In one season a girl with one leg competed. She was very good and I would have liked to have seen more of her. She was voted out before the merge. In that case the African-American woman said so many vile things about her that it nearly made me sick. This season was made of the 'right stuff'. It was truly a feel good season. Enjoy.

3rd best season of Survivor
Yul is a great Survivor and is the mastermind of the entire season and deserves to win. Jeff Probst declares he was disappointed that Ozzy didn't win because of how well he dominated all the challenges. Ozzy is one of the best players to ever play the game and his game is pure according to Yul. He doesn't screw anyone in his alliance over and physically is a step above anyone else in the game. Yul is much smarter than Ozzy and gets more respect from the other players. Jonathan Penner is pretty funny and owns Probst in some of the back and forth at challenges. In the start of the game the tribes are divided by ethnicities into 4 tribes, which has never happened in Survivor. After the Asians dominate the first 2 challenges the tribes are mixed up. The hidden immunity idol plays a big role in this season. It's pretty cheap that you get to play it after the votes are read, so the person with the idol never gets any votes. This is a great season of Survivor, you should buy it.

Another disappointing ending.
After watching the first season, I was suggested from Reddit to check out this one for it is the next best one from the first and from the overall series. This season is... "unique" in particular for whos ever bright idea was to separate groups by race/ethnicity. A laughable concept from the early 2000's, though that wouldn't even be accepted to be aired today. Assuming even the controvesy back then didn't like the idea, as well as the clearly uncomfortable tribe, they soon disregarded it and proceed to mix and mingle whole new groups, called "tribes" together. I have a lot of personal thoughts about this season in specific, though for the quicksake of the rating, I'd say Ozzy should won the grand prize instead of Yul for his ability to shred through those challenges like butter and to keep his cool around fellow tribemates. Yul played it half dirty, still backstabbing people and didn't perform all too well in the games themselves. While I know this is only a review of the season, and also shouted spoilers, I overall still recommend watching even once for the heck of it. I'm removing 2 stars because of the races divided and personal preference of Yul winning. Ozzy still got a car, though.

Most Interesting Survivor Season Hands Down
I was not a Survivor fan at all until I watched this season. I was first drawn to the season because I heard that the tribes were divided by race - which completely shocked me! They had four races - Asian American, African American, Caucasian, and Hispanic. I started watching it because I wanted to see how the producers were going to play the "divided by ethnic lines" - was it going to be a social experiment? Once started, I was completely hooked! I loved watching this group of Survivors compete. I absolutely loved how they handle eliminating the last survivor - nice honorable move. After watching this season, I started watching all the other one, but this one is still my favorite. If you are thinking about starting to watch survivor, I would recommend starting with this one, and prepare for the addiction to start. If you have been a fan but have not kept up - I strongly recommend watching this season.

great season
One of the rarer seasons where the player that I heavily rooted for, Yul Kwon, actually won the game. He overcame formidable obstacles too: a mutiny and a popular player (Ozzy) in the final vote. Although this season took a lot of criticism for dividing the tribes by ethnicity, I welcomed the variety. I also loved how this season finally cast some charismatic "intellectuals", i.e., Yul and another favorite player of mine, Jonathan Penner. blogHighlights: Cao Boi campaigning "Plan Voodoo" to flush out the immune player. Amusingly, Cao Boi was the one voted out. blog The unprecedented mutiny of Candice and Jonathan. The intellectual "business deal" between Yul and Jonathan. A nail-biting final vote. I felt that the most deserving player won even though some would dissent that the most athletic player should've won. :)

Great strategist on this one
Great strategist on this one. Very good but not great season. It became moderately predictable about half way through. There were a couple of really good opportunities for scrambling before tribals, but only one really good surprise outcome in my opinion. If you like younger players acting petulant and childish when things go against their plans, you'll love this season. Such behavior irritates me so there were episodes hard to watch for me. However there were some really good portions and the challenges were so seemingly difficult compared to today's challenges. Overall it was really good.

Great - you'll enjoy this whether a Survivor obsessive or not!
Brilliant - I won't give away the outcome, but this is well worth watching with some straight duelling between a strategic expert and a never-say-die determined competitor. Not the end outcome I wanted and the end of show reunion is a bit of a let-down, although it's always good to see how much the competitors have 'bulked up' again after a few months away from island isolation! Keep the Survivir series coming Amazon!

Case was a little cheap but the discs are solid
Case was a little cheap but the discs are solid. I was a little concerned that the title would not be what I was expecting but the entire season of Survivor: Cook Islands is on here and thats all that I cared about.
