The overlap is ok, still can leave you exposed if you shift a certain way... but easily gets out of the way when I need changed. The length is great, I'm 5'9" and they come to my ankles when seated, half-calf if i stand. I've come to call these my "night gowns" because I'll wear the Utopia Care gowns in the daytime and these at night. After 40+ years of dealing with cerebral palsy, I'm happy to wear these and a good pair of slippers at home... one less thing to aggravate me! :) . So these are pretty good, but if you want a thicker and more comfortable gown, go with the Utopia Care gowns.
