Incredibly practical.
The perfect case. It protects your Steamdeck from getting crushed, protects the joysticks from getting mashed, and takes up very little room in my bag. I also like that you can charge the Steamdeck through the hole in the case. The click is loud when it snaps shut, which can be annoying, but how often are you snapping the thing open and shut. I'm leaving a review because my steamdeck slipped behind a mechanical chair on an airplane and I absolutely crushed the case. Somehow the steamdeck inside was completely unscathed. It is sleek and practical, just don't expect hard impacts like drops to be protected.

This thing is tough!
Feels very durable and secure, I'm not afraid to throw my Steam Deck in a bag or bang it around. And it takes up a LOT less space than the original case from Valve. It's a bit difficult to pop open, but I think that's good. If it came open easily, I would be worried!

so close to perfect for my use
The Tomtoc Steam Deck case offers excellent protection in a sleek, hard-shell design. Its solid plastic exterior provides a robust barrier against impacts and scratches, giving me confidence that my Deck is safe during transport. The case fits the Steam Deck snugly, preventing it from rattling around, and the quality of the materials is evident. I appreciate the secure clasp mechanism and the precise molding that cradles the device. Inside, the fitted interior securely holds the Steam Deck, minimizing any movement. Unlike some other cases, like the DBRAND, the Tomtoc is completely removed when using the Steam Deck, meaning there's absolutely no added bulk during gameplay. One minor drawback is the lack of ventilation holes. While this contributes to the case's overall protective capabilities, it can lead to some heat buildup during demanding tasks, especially when I'm away from home. On occasion, this has caused my Steam Deck to go into standby mode. While this hasn't been a major issue, some added ventilation would be a welcome improvement. Despite this, the peace of mind knowing my Steam Deck is well-protected when not in use makes the Tomtoc case a great choice. If you're looking for a durable, hard-shell case that prioritizes protection and offers a completely unencumbered experience during gameplay, the Tomtoc is definitely worth considering.

Good steam deck case!
Really solid case! It definitely protects the steam deck well, I like how it has extra room for the joysticks so that they don't get mushed around in a bag or something. And, it's a lot less bulky than the carrying case that the steam deck comes with.

Does its job, be careful opening!
The case included with my steam deck is too large to stuff in my small backpack, and I didn't want to risk damaging the joysticks on my deck, so I grabbed this to keep the volume down while still keeping some protection for the joysticks/buttons. The size is perfect to tetris my 100Wh portable power bank between the handles so that it takes up minimal room in my bag. It's nice that you can plug the deck in to charge while the case is closed, but be careful opening the case with a cable plugged in, as it will pinch the cable and this could damage your deck's Type-C port. A bigger notch cutout would still provide protection for the deck's screen and could prevent this issue. (Alternatively, just don't be a clumsy oaf like me.)I also kinda wish there were some cutouts for the vents, that way I could keep the deck plugged in and charging while it was on/doing updates, but hey, this thing does its job.As a bonus, when opened up, unfolded, and with the deck removed, it's the perfect size to act as a lap-protector for my 14 inch gaming laptop, keeping the bottom vents nice and clear while resting on my legs. Didn't expect this extra benefit, but I'll take it!Overall a good product, would recommend to others.

A reassuring case!
This is an awesome case for your Steam Deck! It's sturdy, lightweight and fits like a glove. The latch is reassuringly strong. When your Steam Deck is locked in, you can be sure it is safe. The only thing I would like to see is more rubber pads that create contact with the Steam Deck when it is stored in the case. I can count four in total, which worries me that the Steam Deck may move around when in storage, or if the case is dropped.

Great case but may have an achilles heal (or 2).
The media could not be loaded. I love this case and its the only one I use now. Its also the only SD case that will fit in my Fjallraven Ulvo L hip pack, including vs other slim tom-toc cases which I tried. It hs a couple flaws though:1.) is they made the plastic SO close to the screen that in the center 2 square inches or so you can press it in and slightly tap the screen. So potentially a very hard direct hit from something right in the center could, possibly crack the screen. I don’t worry about it as I always have my battery pack blocking it anyway and it fits perfectly over the screen. Tomtoc could easily have raised it another 5mm and it wouldn’t compromise the slimness as the joystick covers protrude up like an entire inch anyway.2.) Secondly the clasp folds in far enough when open that it touches the bottom 1/6 inch of screen, so if you were to quickly close it not realizing the clasp was pushed in you could possibly crack your screen that way.Would love to see these issues addressed in a V.2.Otherwise I love it, and despite these two minor flaws its the only case that fits my bag. I love the open charging port so I can charge it while in the case too.

Durable, thin and light case
Wanted as minimal of a case as possible for my deck and the this case turned out to be perfect. I was initially skeptical about its protection but after accidentally yeeting my deck in this case onto hardwood floor from about shoulder height (~5ft), I got my answer. Deck was fine with just a small scratch on the case. Worth the money completely.
