Fresh is Best treats were suggested to me by my vet as a great singular ingredient treat option for my cats. He also specified that he prefers feeding hearts over livers due to the function that the organs perform within the body of the animal they come from, hearts tend to be a cleaner organ than livers. These are good for dogs as well. I originally fed these to my cats but had to discontinue due to discovering that one of my cats has a chicken allergy, otherwise I would have continued as they were great treats. These are too large to feed to cats whole so they do need to be cut into pieces before feeding. Some are soft enough that you can crush them with your fingers and break apart. Others are on the harder side so you can either cut them with a knife or use a nutcracker to break into pieces.I feed one heart to my cats every evening, they each get half.

I have been feeding this to my cats for several years. I use them as a treat. They are too big to serve unless you cut them up which gives you an idea of the quality. What I like most about them is they are not greasy at all like other brands. My cats LOVE them and I know they're getting something very healthy as a treat.

I love these too, but I am sorry to say that vital is still the best for chicken hearts

I have a picky dog, but absolutely loves these dog treats. I also bring them to work with me in case I have clients with dogs. Haven't met a dog that does not like these. Highly recommendable.

The one star is because i am being asked to review a product that has not been delivered. It was supposed to be delivered on the 1/5/26 still not here

I bought these recently for my two kitties that eat a grain-free diet. I thought these would make a nice treat and boy, I was not disappointed. They love these so much they refuse to accept any other treats I offer. As another reviewer said, these are too big to be bite-size for a cat, so I cut them up (which is kinda gross, but better for them). They're a bit stinky to me but they store easily and one package will last a good while for my two cats. They absolutely love these. As soon as they see me grab the bag and head for the kitchen shears, they come running. They purr as they eat them, and then they come over and thank me with plenty of rubs and more purrs. These are definitely unbeatable, and I'll be trying out a few more of the other varieties as well to see what they like best. A bit pricey when compared to cheapo grain and cheese snacks, but well worth the extra expense to feed them something better suited to their diet that they love.

My only complaint was that I had asked for the extra packaging when ordering so that the product wasn't shown, yet it arrived as pictured but the other side has the shipping label printed right on it. Otherwise, seems like a good product. My dog & cat both go nuts for these things, though my cat has issues with them whole so they do have to be broken up for her which isn't very difficult. Just make sure they have plenty of water handy!

My cats LOVE these - and most of the Fresh is Best line of freeze-dried treats. I cut them up into 1/4" pieces, and the cats can barely contain themselves while I am getting the treats ready for them. The bag is resealable, which is fabulous, and I love that I have found a treat that is so healthy for them! My girls are on a grain-free, wet food-only diet. They receive Fresh-is-Best as treats each week, and I usually give them onew bowl of Stella & Chewy's each week as a treat as well. I don't add water to any of the freeze-dried items. My girls don't like them with added water, but I know not all cats are the same. For mine, I think they like the difference in texture that they get from Fresh is Best (crunchy), Stella & Chewy's (flakey), and the wet food. It seems to be important to offer them different textures when you have taken away dry food from them. My girls are much healthier with these changes!
