I like the thin tab on the one end which fit well with the tiny lobster claw on my necklace. The magnet is strong and secure. It closes easily when I put it on and, unlike another one I had bought, it is not difficult to separate the magnets to take my necklace off. The magnet is too strong to just pull or twist them apart; you need to be able to get your fingernail between the discs to remove your jewelry. (This is a good thing!) In my photo of the two types I bought, notice the difference between the seams between the magnet discs; one is very flat and the other (ALEXCRAFT) is a bit rounded. The flat one makes it impossible to get your fingernail in there! However the ALEXCRAFT one has just enough of a rounded edge on each disc to create a divot that you can use to separate them. I had also bought the kind that have much smaller discs that connect at their ends instead of their sides. The ALEXCRAFT ones that connect on their sides are much more secure. ALEXCRAFT was the best of all of them!
