Ordered 2, both had issues
Ordered two 6TBs, one had lots of errors for un-correctable and pending sectors, after it was resilvered into a RAID, it had around 39k write errors and 9k read errors. The second drive never was detected in the server. Plugging it into windows with a caddy, would appear, but would never come online with a fatal error each time. Both were returned. The packaging they send these in are really subpar, the amazon paper bag and a very thin bubble wrap bag for each drive, I wouldn't be surprised if the failure was caused by shipment as there is no warning there something very easily damageable in the bag. In comparison, I brought from another supplier of pre-owned hard drives, and they arrived packed in a thick cardboard box and packed with recyclable paper packing to keep them safe, no issues with them.

So called Enterprise drive has died.
I purchased this enterprise 6TB drive 3 years ago, it showed signs of failing around 12 months ago by making this awful rattling noise, so I contacted Seagate and suprise suprise Seagate will not honor warranty as they say it was purchased as part of a bulk order (by the seller) and I would need to contact the Amazon seller to claim on the warranty, well there is no way to contact the seller two years after the purchase, this weekend the drive failed for good, still making the rattling noise but now Windows cannot read the disk. thankfully I havnt lost anything I cant replace...I should have trused my gut and paid the little extra and purchased a HDD from distributor that would honor the warranty - expensive lesson learnt!!

Used Chia farm drives being sold as New condition
The hard drive I received was used and not new so has no warranty. I had read an article where Chia farms had wiped the SMART statistics from used drives and put them back on the market as new after purchasing so I ran a test upon receipt to check it was new. If you are running Linux, run "smartctl -l farm <device>" and it will give you all of the details of the drive. The drive I received was showing it had over 28k hours of power on usage and had been through 314 power cycles. Buyer beware.

Received drives dated 2018.
Received drives dated 2018 bought August 2024. I don't think this is acceptable for drives being sold as new. There is no manufractures warranty on these drives. I will be returning these. Absolutely useless to myself. Drives where out of warranty a year before I received them. No mention of this on this page of this fact.

Old stock drives...
Don't buy from Amazon, these are drives from old stock, sold through small retailers. Warranty is always a problem for these drives, check on Seagate site the warranty for the serial you get. Returned.

Warning: Not a new drive - does not come with warranty!
On receipt of the drive, I immediately tried to register with seagate for the warranty, but was told that this was not supported as the drive was sold as part of a larger system. That makes me think this was a refurbished drive, pulled out of a datacenter somewhere, and quite possibly already heavily used. Needless to say I immediately returned it.

Awful noise while idle
I bought 2 x Seagate ST6000NM0024 6TB hard-drives for my QNAP NAS and am throughly pleased with them. When I ran out of space, I came to order more but were out of stock. According to QNAPs compatibility list, the ST6000NM0115 is on the same firmware and compatible so I went for 2 of these. Unfortunately they make a horrendous humming noise when idle which stop as the disks read/write and immediately start after again. If these are going to be locked away where you can't hear them then I guess this isn't an issue for you but if, like my setup, they sit in your office room then you will get very agitated by the noise all day.

Picked this Seagate 10Tb Exos to be hardware compatible (RPMs, Mfg Date) with my older 10Tb Skyhawk 3.5" HDD. Works perfectly in RAID 1 mirror NAS configuration on Synology DSM 723+. My previous Seagate 10Tb HDD which I bought 7 years ago still works perfectly well and is extremely reliable. I mostly use and have used various Seagate HDDs in a SOHO capacity mainly for personal use. Naturally Seagate HDDs continues to be my preferred choice.

Data Center drives are built far better than a standard concern consumer drive, they are often faster than consumer drives and these are very quiet.mine where used but actually never installed, zero hours.

I bought 2 of these to replace 2 older IronWolf drives in a software RAID5 array on my Debian media server. (They were giving me SMART errors and left me feeling like either might fail at any time.) Before putting into production, I attached each to a USB external drive enclosure to run SMART tests and badblocks. It took over 24 hours per drive to complete all the testing, but happy to say both were brand-spanking new, no SMART errors and no errors from badblocks r/w tests. Time will tell, but so far I'm happy and would recommend.
