Double Cotton Gun Cleaning Patches - Highly Absorbent Square Patches for Firearms

If you are looking for the typical cotton cleaning patch you will be initially disappointed. Upon arrival the package is vacuum packed and the “made in China” was a red flag. On first impression from pulling a couple out of the secondary ziplock type bag I thought they were almost a woven paper towel type patch and didn’t think they would hold up at all. I tried to tear it but they didn’t tear like a paper towel and found they have visible fibers but they don’t fray like the typical patch. IMHO a clean and properly maintained firearm is a safe and responsible owner. I usually clean all of mine after each use and I clean a lot. Grabbed a bottle of the trusty Hoppe’s #9 and they one in a patch jag. It seemed to hold a decent amount of fluid. Ran it through a bore as well as magazine tube and seemed to coat surfaces well. I let the chemical dwell before bronze brush and clean patches. I then take the saturated patch and do my initial wipe down of bolts, receivers/blocks and trigger assemblies. I do like the fact they hold together without tearing. They do seem to be lint free. I’m still in the fence as being a creature of habit if something doesn’t really impress me then I stay with the tried and true. I wish I had paid better attention because I typically buy products like this that are made in the USA.
