I have these gates on three doorways in my house to close off rooms that I don't want my dogs to go into. We got it to replace one with a metal clasp that my son would just yank on and open. While this is SUPER secure - great for the top of the stairs, we’ve had it for probably 3 months and it’s just now starting to open and close easier. I think because it slides wood on wood, it takes a while to break in.
