I've tried the cheaper alternatives and they all have two problems:1. The spray is weak or gets clogged easily. This is especially troublesome because I am using this product to shoot up at the ceiling.2. The spray is inconsistent. With other product, I've gotten big chunks, dead areas, small chunks and it looks terrible.This product solves both of those issues.

On the finest setting it still sprays some large blobs. If you just have fine orange peel on your wall and don't want your smooth spot to stand out, you'll need to use a paper towel and blot it after you spray. It does look seamless after doing that though.

Like most reviews, this stuff is worthless. Comes out as a huge blast even on the smallest setting & is runny. Once it dries, it looks like someone just splashed a can of paint @ that area.

The spray comes out of the cap and trigger, sprays about 6 inches, more on your hand and floor. I followed directions shook longer than they require, the rattle ball never seemed to make noise my guess is the product was past it's shelf life and somewhat cured in the can.

I used this on a bathroom ceiling - about 40 sf. Very pleased. The technique is well described on a YouTube video - Homax Knockdown Ceiling Texture Review by "D.I.Y.'er John". (Note that he was using a similar Homax knockdown product, the orange peel here only needs to be sprayed). As he explains, shake the can for about 5 minutes and then test on cardboard before beginning. Once you start, pause and shake the can briefly again every minute or so. Spray in a circular patter. I didn't create near the mess he did, probably because it was a smaller area.Will definitely use again.

Chemicals exploded after a 2-3 seconds and now there is crud everywhere. Buy from your home improvement store so you can return the faulty ones. This item is not returnable

Stay away from this product. The spray comes out of all parts of the top creating a huge mess and losing pressure towards the target. Complete waste of money, do not buy
