The quality of the material is excellent, it's very soft and thick enough to be worn by itself buttoned up. Most importantly the buttons are so beautiful and chic. Most cardigans on amazon tend to have cheap shiny gold buttons, but not this one. They are a brushed matte gold with no shine. It's the little details that make or break it for me. I ordered the color black in a small, and the fit is perfect (I'm 115lbs), it's not tight which is what I wanted and it's just loose enough to wear something under if preferred, if you want a tighter fit you can go down one size. The color is a nice true black as well. The quality of this cardigan can easily rival much more expensive brands out there.
