great reel. smooth casting and retrieval.

Better performing than previous gen model. Cheap, but great workhorse.
Nice tight tolerances on the internal parts and good tiny bit of damping on the reeling action. Smooth drag that has a greased gasket under the drag dial to help keep rain and dirt out of the drag system. Drag clicker isn't too loud.This new 2024 model is overall better than the previous generation, which was smooth but still a tiny bit of slack inside. The new one has very little slack or wiggle in the crank system.The spool doesn't have holes in the side which is great. Also helps to keep rain and debris from getting onto the spool shaft.This reel also holds a ridiculous amount of braided line for a 4000 (40x) series sized reel. Way more than most 4000 series spinning reels on the market. This is great when you might hook into a fish much larger than expected and can still tire it out on big runs using lighter gear, just by having a crazy deep spool of line the fish can pull till tired out.

Just a truly great reel with an awesome new look.
If there is a better reel for the money, I have not found it. I got the 25 size to replace an ancient BPS Megacast 10 that finally pooped out. Huge upgrade. Everything about this reel is quality. Spooled with 4 lb. high vis mono. Line lay was perfect. Reel did need a drop of 3 and 1 oil on the main shaft as it was a bit dry. Really loosened up after that. Silky smooth. For those confused about Pflueger reel sizes, 20 is basically a 500 in other brands, 25 is a 1000, etc., and the President series tend to be slightly heavier than others of the same price point. Still a solid reel.

I recently purchased this Fishing Reel, and I have to say, I am thoroughly impressed! As an avid angler, I’ve tried various reels, but this one has quickly become my go-to for both freshwater. It’s is very smooth and lightweight.

Great first reel
The media could not be loaded. Great fishing reel. I just started fishing this past year so this was my first name brand reel I have purchased and has not disappointed. Smooth cast and retrieve. The drag quality is great for the panfish I catch (trout, bluegill, bass, etc.)
