I recognize that this is an unconventional way to use the product, however, we live in So Florida and honestly, it gets reeeeally HOT down here. Our papillon dogs have a lot of fur on them. A lot, so it's hard to keep them comfortable. I had purchased some of these bags years ago to aid in an injury and realized that they serve a good purpose cooling down my pups after their walks, exercise, rough playing, etc. I keep a half a dozen of them in the freezer during the summer months. Calms them down and makes them so comfortable! Makes for a happy pappy mom!

At the suggestion of my surgeon, I purchased these as a part of recovery after total knee replacement. These are a serious life-saver. No dripping, they are very lightweight and chill down super-fast. My knee is completely covered by the area of the tri-fold pack and the cooling effect was long-lasting. The fact that this is a 2-pack really makes it even more of a great buy. You can use one while the other is cooling off, and within about 30 minutes, it's cooled down and again ready for use. If you're on the fence, take the plunge. Very worth-while.

5 stars because I have no complaints so far. I got this two pack of ice packs for my two small dogs to lay on the floor when it gets really hot, or if we have to take a car ride that's going to be hot (AC works, but not great, on my vehicle). I laid them each on one and they both got off, however within an hour laid his cheek /head on it and took a nap, so I think they at least know they are cold and can use them if they like. I am leaving them laying on tile floor to let them get used to them but will put them in freezer again to re-cool and try again. There is a product that is basically a flat small waterbed for dogs that you lay on a hard floor that you don't chill or freeze and it cools just like that from ambient floor temperature, I may get those also but figured these ones might get colder since these are designed to be put in the freezer. There is a smooth plastic side and soft fabric side, I put the soft fabric side up and figured that might withstand their claws better.

I would definitely buy them again.I used them frozen, the material side was perfect to apply right to your body, no need to wrap in a towel.Easy to freeze, they fold to fit in the freezer better.
