Pure Elan One² Portable FM/DAB+ Radio with Bluetooth, Cotton White

I’m really chuffed with this. I was specifically looking for something small and easy to move around that still sounded decent, mainly so I could listen to the news while I’m busy working. The Elan One2 fits the bill perfectly. Performance and Sound The DAB+ reception is excellent, it picked up loads of stations straight away without any faffing about. For such a compact bit of kit, the sound is lovely and clear, which is exactly what you want when you're listening to people talk all day. It doesn't sound "tinny" like some small portables do. Build and Features It’s very straightforward to use; the menu is simple to navigate and having the preset buttons is a massive bonus for switching between stations quickly. I also like that I can pop some AA batteries in if I want to take it into another room or out into the garden. It’s a great, reliable little radio that does exactly what it says on the tin. If you need something portable that doesn't compromise on sound quality, I’d highly recommend it.

This is a great radio for the price. The sound quality/volume is excellent given its size. Very easy to set up and use. I can’t comment on battery operation, as I’ve been running it from the mains. It comes with a USB-A to barrel connector lead that connects to the radio’s 5 volt socket. It doesn’t come with a mains plug to connect the USB to though, so that will need to be bought separately if you don’t have one. Luckily I had a few left over from old mobile phones. Reception on DAB and FM is perfect, I am very close to the local transmitters though, so in low signal areas that might be different? The Bluetooth is a real plus as it lets you listen to internet stations via the radio. It was easy to pair with my phone and tablet. A good quality radio for the money.

Loses a star as it does not come with a 3 pin plug, you will need to buy an adaptor if you want to run on the mains . Having said that do not let it put you off , this is a great little radio , good reception and sound quality. If buying for an older person or someone with aight impairment do them a favour and set it up for them, as the instructions are very small print. The display is very bright and clear and easy to read so once set up should be simple to operate. Overall a good value compact item .

Really pleased with this radio. I was struggling to get a lot of the radio stations with my old radio but there were no issues at all with this radio. It’s not the biggest radio but it’s really easy to use and the sound is great. I think it’s a bargain and would recommend it

I cannot give a zero review. Didn’t work out the box. Audio was not working. Don’t buy. Wasted an hour of my life with a defective product out the box. Dear oh dear.

Lots of negative reviews for this radio, but I find most of them relate to faulty units, which is fair enough, user error, or over optimistic expectation. Most of the other reviews seems quite good so thought I'd buy one and see for myself. My unit was fine. I tested all features and functions and found no issues and in line with a budget DAB radio. I wanted it for the bathroom so it won't see a lot of use. Battery wise, so far I have had 7 hours use at 50% volume with the battery meter on about half, so I think it's fair to say I'll get about 10 hours from my premium branded rechargeable batteries which for my use is fine. It's worth noting that DAB radios seem to use more power than their conventional FM/AM cousins. It comes with a charging cable but not a power supply, so you'll need to find your own if you wish to avoid batteries. Most folk have a basic USB charger around the house and they are not expensive if you haven't. It is a little plasticky of course at this level, but the tone is fine and what I would expect in this segment. My only annoyance is the scrolling text on the display. It can be changed to show other info, but always reverts back to the scrolling mode. The included instruction manual is not detailed enough for some people, so a bit of research was needed for finer points. I would recommend this item and hope you receive one that's fully operational like I did if you decide to buy. If any one is interested, the headphone socket is stereo, well it was when I checked using Bluetooth, so the unit could be connected to a larger setup if required.

I have used Pure radios for years and they have never let me down. However I noticed one or two people had issues and so although I was a little hesitant I went ahead and bought one. I am so glad that I did because it is actually a great little radio. I like the tone -a lot of the cheaper radios sound a bit tinny but this one has a nice mellow tone (to my ear!). It can be powered from a USB socket and can also take 4 AA batteries which is a great backup. The best thing is that as it has a 5volt jack plug input socket, they do not really make this clear which is a shame because it is a big plus because I can run the radio using the power bank that I usually use to charge my phone, much better than an onboard rechargable because built in batteries on budget products fail sooner rather than later in my experience. It is pretty much self set up -just switch it on and it will scan and set the date/time etc. A really nice little radio.

Difficile à mettre en œuvre et de pietre qualité honnêtement je m'attendais à beaucoup mieux que ça....

Cinq étoiles pour cette petite radio. Peu prétentieuse, mais simplement efficace. (Je ne suis pas réellement habile avec les notices de fonctionnement... ) Cette radio est aisée à mettre en oeuvre, à la condition de ne pas suivre la notice trop au pied de la lettre ! Les piles ne sont pas nécessaires, (mais bien sur, avec une alimentation par un fil USB) . Si le fil d'alimentation est ôté, cela refoctionne dès que l'on reconnecte le câble (Différemment d'autres radio qui nécessitent des piles pour conserver la "mémoire" de vos stations favorites !) La sélection des stations, peut se faire lorsque vous écoutez la station choisie, en appuyant sur le bouton, -de 1 à 5. En éteignant la radio, même câble ôté, et après avoir remis le cable d'alimention (USB) vous appuyez sur le gros bouton "marche", puis sur le bouton -de 1 à 5- où est la station sélectionnée et votre émission. Une radio sans prétention qui fonctionne ! Tout simplement.

Brilliant little radio easy to set-up and use. Radio stations easy to select. Would recommend them to anyone. Paul.
