Got this for my husband as a gift. It's a great gift, easy to use and straightforward.

This is a stellar product. The knife is durable and higher quality than expected. Over stuffing is possible and definitely understandable how it can be done, so ensure that portioning out the tube is performed. For those who say this is not a quality product because there are no instructions, it does not take a rocket scientist to figure it out. Check out some of the other products that have videos, or just get on YouTube and watch some videos.1. Once you fill the each side of the tube with rice, wet your fingers to press down in the center of each side to make sure it is spread evenly.2. Use the plunger and press down on the rice in the center of each side of the tube to get the correct amount of space for your ingredients.3. Add your ingredients3. Add the plunger to the grooved side.4. Close the tube and cap the other end.5. Begin spinning the plunger and start to compress your roll.6. Ensure your seaweed paper is lined up in the correct position and press your concoction onto the seaweed paper.7. Assistance may be necessary to help guide your roll or pull it away from the plunger.8. Wrap and cut into slices.I did not try with the seaweed paper on the inside of the rice, but I am sure it can be done.The chopsticks were dishwasher safe and were very nice quality. Pro tip, use cellophane/cling wrap on your bamboo mat to help with easy cleanup. Cleaning the knife blade after every 2 rolls made helps with better cuts. And don't forget the green bamboo mat is for more seasoned sushi makers that do not require the use of the tube. The lighter mat is for beginners. You may feel confident initially to try yourself, but it is not as easy as they make it look in the restaurants, they're professionals. Hence why you are debating purchasing this. Feel confident in this product because you definitely won't be disappointed.

I was skeptical about buying another plastic contraption that would end up sitting on my shelf and I'd never use. This is not one of those an I plan on using it often. This device made it SO easy to make sushi (I made fake sushi with cooked chicken and sweet potato). I first tried making it the traditional way with just the bamboo mat and then with the sushi squisher.The sushi squisher is much better because you get a tighter roll with less air space and it's less likely to fall apart. You also get crisp ends that don't look ugly and you don't have to cut them off. (Although I like popping those into my mouth). ;)Tip 1: Since the sushi squisher makes tighter rolls, you'll have longer sheets of nori. I used scissors to precut the width I needed then rolled my sushi up. You'll also have excess in length that won't stay wrapped, cut that off once rolled.Tip 2: Keep the trimmed nori. If you have extra rice to make a partial roll, the smaller strips of nori can be used (see my photos for the small rolled sushi log on the nori pieces). LOVE that I can make smaller rolls with this device.Tip 3: Don't worry about getting the rice all the way up the sides of the white sushi maker reservoir. Try to get as much as you can, but the nice thing about the sushi squisher is it helps fill in the gaps once you press the plunger.Tip 4: when using your bamboo mats, wrap them in in a layer of cling wrap. I've seen this in recipes online. Great idea. Made it so much easier for clean up.

I looooove sushi but I’ve never done anything like this, ever! Also I’m not artsy so like, it’s pretty impressive these turned out like they did. That speaks for the product lol. It’s easy to use and walks you right through it, and also comes with cute chopsticks and little ornamental ducks. We were so so impressed and can’t wait to break it out and do this again soon! (Don’t judge our paper plates lol it was just date night in)

Such cute details. Easy to use with or without the bazooka, but it looks more professional with it. Can fit more ingredients without using that tool. Every item has been useful in the basic kit. The nicer one is also an attractive deal for making different types of sushi styles. Affordable price.

I purchased 2of these kits, one for me and the other as a gift. I opened my box immediately and wanted to make sushi. The kit is easy to use, and I made several different types of sushi. Sushi looked like the type you get when in an expensive restaurant. I need more practice, the rolls were loose. It's FUN!!

I bought this as a gift and we had a lot of fun doing it. It's easy to do and by the second attempt, we had perfected the roll. I would highly recommend it. It came with chop sticks in a pouch and all the tools needed to make the rice.

It appears there are only a third of the items in this package that are actually required to make sushi. The instructions at least don't seem to cover much.

Overall it was good value, knife is of good quality, but the bazooka is of very poor quality it broke off in one use, so now I use the mats
