The gusset does not seem especially large at 3cm in depth but the difference between these and other more standard pillows at differing price levels is significant.As indicated by another reviewer, getting one into a pillow case is a time-consuming challenge and is best done a few cm at a time on one side before switching to the other. It may be impossible with some cases if they are only slightly under-sized but should be easier if the cases are slightly larger than standard. It will take a few minutes and you could work up a sweat.Having paid much higher prices for a single hollow-filled pillow and others that claimed but failed to deliver a superior sleeping experience, these are both excellent value and perform beyond expectations. Not only are they very comfortable but they also do not distort after use and require a major restructuring the following morning. A minor shake out will suffice and you may not need to do that every day, but only every other day at the worst. All you have to do is give them a shake about every 2 days and they gare as good as new.
