Before the pandemic, and even since then, we did alot of travelling, with very few places off limits. Unfortunately, recent events are making the immediate prospect of going somewhere somewhat more fraught, but hopefully these things will also soon pass and the world will open up again. Whenever that is, one of the items needed when going to different countries are converters. Different countries use different voltages and plugs, and if you don't have the appropriate device to make your electronics and appliances work with that system your items are rendered basically useless, as you can't plug them on or the current is wrong. Truthfully, this was a bigger problem decades ago, but now many hotels provide plugs and electricity in the room for your items. Still, one cannot discount the possibility that you will be somewhere that doesn't, and so preparation is needed, lest your cell phone, camera battery and hair dryer become paperweights or bookends. This adapter/converter is a one stop solution to these problems. It converts the voltage between 220 and 110, and gives four adapter plugs that will enable you to plug in virtually anywhere in the world. Between these two features you should be able to use anything electronic wherever you are. The main unit itself is not big nor heavy, and the adapters are only as big as needed; bringing it should not be burdensome, especially as a nice mesh bag is included to carry everything. We have not gone anywhere since receiving it. but I am currently using it at home to transform one outlet into two, and it is working fine for that purpose. I have every reason to expect that when called upon to convert and adapt that this product will do fine. It is a very good concept and seems well constructed. It will definitely be coming with me on my next foreign trip, which I hope is real soon.

This was very handy to have in Spain. However, the carry bag for it is not good. Recommend you put and store this item in either a zip lock bag or other bag with drawstring closure.

We’ve had pretty good luck going overseas so far, most of the hotels have had the items like hairdryers and clothes irons in the room for use. This is good because trying to pack an iron would be expensive, heavy and likely questioned by TSA. However, the likes of steamers and curling irons however are much less common and well…they draw too much juice to use in the typical travel converters. Boy did we learn that lesson in Rome. Ended up buying a stronger converter from a street vendor for way too much money. This purchase somehow evaporated from our bags somewhere between DaVinci airport and our home. It could have been left in the room, but that would mean admitting that i left it plugged up. So- here we are buying a replacement. This is a good replacement unit for several reasons. The first is that it supports A LOT of countries including the one we’re going to (most kits don’t have quite the range of this kit as this supports most of the plug types if not all. It also can handle up to 2000 watts which is enough to run the most hefty hairdryers. I’m a fan of the carry bag for all of the interchangeable plugs and will ditch the box to hopefully conserve the most precious resources…suitcase space and weight!

We are traveling to Europe in November, so won’t be able to fully test out this converter/adapter until then. Will update this after our trip to accurately reflect its performance. Right out the box this 220v to 110v converter feels very well made as it has some heft - weighing in at 9.3oz without any of the 4 detachable adapters. Speaking of adapters, this kit includes a UK/HK, US/CA/JP, CH/AUS, and an EU adapter. The description also lists additional countries that fall under each plug adapter. Kit also has a nice little mesh carrying pouch to keep everything together, which I didn’t know it included until unboxing it. Overall: again, can’t fairly review this converter/adapter until we travel internationally in November, but I can tell you we plan on ordering another to have as a backup to take with us. My boyfriend has personally said this is a really nice converter, and he’s travel abroad many times over the course of his life so I trust his word. Yes it’s pricey comparatively speaking, but you get both a converter and adapter for single and dual voltage electrics, 4 different adapter plugs, and a nice little carrying pouch to keep everything together for the price. Not a bad deal IMO.
