New Balance Unisex-Child 990 V3 Sneaker

Don't waste your money on the lightweight foam New Balance shoes that have the designs printed on them -- these shoes are SO MUCH BETTER! This pair of shoes comes in a variety of size for toddlers on up and we know our child is hard on shoes but requires good stability and support. This pair of navy blue shoes feature some suede that I believe makes them hold up much longer, are warmer in winter, and can take a splash in the rain without becoming a seive. These shoes have sturdy construction and non-marking soles and provide good support. They are stylish, easy to brush off the dirt and have the old fashioned wide shoelaces that actually stay tied and knotted for most of the day for our kindergartner. We both love them, as we did during the toddler years with the velcro straps. Luckily, this style shoe comes in a variety of colors so we will keep buying them. (The foam uppers on the last pair disintegrated and fell apart in about 7 weeks and could not take on a bit of rain without causing wet socks in seconds.)

I bought the EXTRA WIDE for my 22-month-old, based on other reviewers' comments. And the shoe fits great, but I have to pull the strap really hard to get it far enough over to attach onto the velcro. It's as if they made a wider shoe and then used the same strap from the regular version. Huh??? We are going to keep them because we are desperate for a new pair of shoes, but I worry that I'm pulling them so tight that they're uncomfortable and that they won't fit for long cause there's no room for the strap to adjust at all. I may try to get a velcro sticker to extend the area where the strap can attach. (This should absolutely not be necessary for a shoe at this price!!)EDITED: We have now had these shoes for a couple months and the strap must have stretched because they are perfect now and it is not difficult at all to attach them!

The KJ990 is the only shoe I have been buying for several years now.I have 2 girls about a shoe size apart at all times. They burned out shoes like nothing till I found these.I used to go to target or payless, but those shoes were junk and fell apart all the time.Instead of shopping for a different model as often as kids outgrow the shoes, I settled on this ONE model for as long as it comes in their size.Durable, more than you'd imagine. My autistic daughter literally murders her shoes. These still outlast her brutality. My older daughter is in track and other youth sports, and these have held up to her events and daily life.All in all, I was looking for a shoe that could outlive their growth cycles. And so far this has been a one stop shop for us!I just tell um what color options are available in their size, and they get to choose. No more this style or that style, just this one daily use shoe.Do yourself a favor and stop wasting your money on those cheaper shoes at payless. These shoes cost me less than I spent in junk bin shoes, and I buy one pair a year usually. And we still have enough life in them to gift them to the neighbor who sometimes needs a bit of time between her daughters growth and her pocket book.These shoes are amazing, just pick out a color :P

I looked long and hard for a gender-neutral, comfy pair of sneakers for my daughter that weren't exorbitant, and finally found this. The shoes look very cute on her, and she is clearly very comfy in them. The previous reviews are correct in that they do feel a little narrow. She doesn't have particularly wide feet, but with socks, I have to help her get them on. Once on, though, they hug her feet nicely and she seems to be comfortable enough in them that she prefers not to take them off (even when she's supposed to!). But they are going on a little easier after a week of use, so maybe she'll be able to slip them on herself soon. The sizing otherwise seems fine, relative to her previous shoe. A good buy!

I selected this shoe after a professional shoe store owner fit my 2 1/2 year-old son. Lots of shoes are cute, but I wanted him to have better support now that he's active, runs quite a bit, visits theme parks largely without a stroller, etc... My son has a chubb foot (i.e., wide) and has low arches. This shoe fit him like a dream and gives much better cushioning than the "cutsie" shoes from Target and Converse. I also appreciate that this New Balance shoe comes in half sizes, like most better-made shoes do, in order to get the best fit. Amazon has the best price for this shoe, I save about 15-20% buying here than in a store. I got the first pair of NB shoes at the store in gratitude for the store owner's professional advice, but subsequent pairs have been through Amazon.As a side note, the shoe store owner recommended that while a child is seated with a shoe on, shove their toes to the farthest forward position in the shoe (without forcing them to curl), then insert your own index finger in the gap behind the child's heel. You should be able to insert your finger by neither jamming it in nor seeing a lot of wiggle room. The finger should feel just right. That's a good fit. When I was a kid we used to do a test by pressing on the toe end of the shoe while the child was standing up, but some shoes are so sturdy that you can't feel much using the toe-press test.

Gute Qualität

I originally bought these just for running but they are literally the most comfortable shoes I've ever owned and fit perfectly (which is usually difficult for me as I'm a 5.5 and a lot of places don't carry it) so I think I'm going to be wearing them regularly now. They look very good as well, not too bulky and in your face like a lot of sports shoes. Would definitely recommend, love them.

Sehen ein wenig so aus wie die klassischen 991, zwar nicht so stabil und fest, aber das kann für den Preis auch nicht erwartet werden, dafür sind sie leichter und eben ein Schuh für jeden Tag, so easy!
