It is very much up to the individual as to how they look when mounted. Ours is only viewed from the front and so it is not a problem.

If it's fitted into the wall can you still have the back lites on and see them

Not the type of fire to be fitted into the wall. No you won't see the back light's they are designed to shine on the wall and the hot air blowers are underneath so they can't be fitted into the wall

Hi could i use this fire for a tv niche, so its set into the wall, flush?

I would say no because the heat comes from below.

What does it look like from the side

The fire has a black surrounding approx 100mm stand off from wall, the led lights are attached to the sides so if you look directly from the sides you will see these. The glass front covers the whole fire surround so you can't see the sides if view from front
