This filter works great. After installing I tested the water using a Taylor Technology calcium hardness test. Our water’s calcium level is usually around 100-120 ppm, after passing through this filter it dropped to something less than 25ppm. That is the closest number I can accurately test to at the sample size I used, and that is good enough for me. This filter is noticeably larger than many of the other tank filters out there, so it stands to reason it will work better as the water will pass through more of the filter medium. Definitely recommend this filter over the others if your tank is large enough, especially if you have two intake hoses (water and steam) in your espresso machine.

Not as pictured advertised. Was to be a in a granular state. Received all gelled up.. returning for a replacement. Hopefully will receive what is pictured…granular.

Should be refillable. It might last 2 months, but it definitely doesn’t last 3 months. I tested TDS after 3 months and it tested the same as tap water.

Softens the water for my Ascaso Dream to prevent scaling.

I was in the market for a replacement water filter for my Grimac La Valentina espresso machine. The original filter lasted for over a decade and it was time to finally replace it. This replacement filter effectively softens water for up to 22 liters or two months under standard hardness conditions. Since I only used filtered water in my machine, the filter was overkill, but I wanted something just in case a worker used regular tap water by mistake. I like the fact that these are compatible with a wide variety of espresso machines. Specifically designed to fit models with an internal water reservoir, these filters integrate with most brands, including popular choices such as Ascaso, Bezzera, Gaggia, Rancilio, and Rocket. This adaptability means that you won’t have to worry about whether it will fit your machine; if it has an intake hose in the water tank, it will likely work perfectly. Overall, I am happy with my order.

Fits my gaggia and is cheaper than the softener I’ve been using. Be sure to follow the directions and pre-soak so you minimize any taste artifacts. Works well and should last a few months. I wish the resin was sold separately so it could be refilled, but hopefully we see that soon.

The filter is easy to install, and you’re saving money by not having to buy distilled water anymore.
