The certifications were important to me and I didn't trust filters that supposedly last years. 6 months seems right, and while it's a new household expense, it seems worth it after installation. The parts & instructions were well made & written. Based on another helpful review, I purchased 3 inexpensive extra parts that eliminated the white piece that connects directly to the water supply line since it seemed to improve durability and ensure good flow. I hope they might upgrade their parts package to do this for future customers. The filter is long, and the best way to install under my sink was horizontal, which made it harder to reach the furthest screws, but not impossible, and now replacement is that much easier. Upon first test, heard the water try and make its way through but there was almost no flow. Long story short, something made its way to the faucet head, which once I cleaned it out, the flow seemed almost (90% or more) like pre-install. (Sigh of relief). I also had to reseat the connectors to the filter head housing to ensure no leaking. I put a small container underneath just to be sure, but it's been dry since day one. Water tastes very good, and it feels good to have done the best we can to improve the quality / health of our drinking water.
