You have to be careful what you put in it in order for it to not hang weirdly on you, but that’s any scarf like this.This is super handy for when you’re on an airplane— you can access things like gum or your earbuds without it, having to contort yourself to dig them out of pants, pockets full, or from a bag under the seat. First, its made of a material that is somewhat thicker and less stretchy than expected, kind of a poly-cotton tshirt material? It is soft on the face though. It is also much wider than expected, so, it’s almost like a shawl, but the loop is closed too short to be a shawl. Also somewhat too long when double looped as a scarf to keep your neck snug and warm. Not long enough to just wrap a third time to be a neck gaiter, and probably too thick. I messed around with it to see if I triple twisted and did some other stuff would it keep my neck warm- so the jury is still out on that. It does make a nice hood when wrapped and pulled over right. First blush, I didnt think it was what i wanted, but here I am hours later still wearing it, so maybe its one of those things you never knew you needed? its not awesome that the zipper has a dangly thing that shows no matter how you poke and tuck and try to hide it, and mine came with a defect in the pocket where it has a 2 inch section of unfinished seam which promptly ate the chapstick i put in the pocket. Quite a pita to finagle the chapstick back out. My phone does fit, but its snug and pulls and hangs down very unstealthily in the scarf. Maybe this is a learning curve thing. I bought the scarf for a trip to Paris over Thanksgiving. The forecast said that it was going to be cold, and so I paid expedited shipping to get this scarf in before I left (and I'm so glad that I did). I was also planning to wear sweater dresses almost the entire time I was there, so I didn't think wearing a belt under my clothes would make my items incredibly accessible.First, the design of the scarf keeps your possessions incredibly safe, hidden, and secure. In fact, there were times I had a difficult time figuring out where the pocket was at, which although a little bit of an issue, it also reassured me that a thief would have an even more difficult time. I carried my passport, credit card in an RFID holder, money, and my phone in the pocket, and even with all that weight, if you position the scarf correctly, you can't tell I'm carrying anything (in every single picture I have all those things in the scarf, except for my phone). In fact, until I showed the pocket to the teachers who were on the trip with me, none of them realized that the scarf had a hidden pocket, and then they all wanted a scarf just like it.Second, the scarf is very good quality. I bought the black fabric, so it would match everything I wore. It actually seemed to repel water slightly, though this isn't something that is advertised, so it may just have been my perception (I didn't get soaked at any point, but water beaded on the fabric in light rain). The fabric was incredibly soft and cozy, and again, the hidden zipper is truly hidden.Third, the scarf is actually warm. In fact, I was able to use it as a pseudo-earmuffs (see picture) while at Versailles. Actually, I'm trying to figure out how to make it less warm, so I can wear it this summer because it was the handiest while traveling.My favorite thing about the entire scarf is the fact that I never had to worry about pickpockets. I knew my items were secure where I could feel anyone trying to access items, and they were so hidden, I really didn't have to worry at all. This is an amazing travel accessory, and if you're not sure it's worth the cost, I would tell you it is.
