Can I drive two 4k displays from this with just one cable connected to my 2022 Macbook Pro?

That depends somewhat on which MPB you are running, specifically whether it is an M1/M1 Pro. I am running a single 4k monitor from a 16" M1 Pro with no issues. Assuming you are running a Pro processor, you should be able to do what you are looking to do; you'll end up with one display connected via the dock's HDMI port, and another connected via USBC to HDMI adapter (which you'll need to obtain separately). Just be aware you'll be limited to 60Hz (aka frames per second), which will likely only matter if you are trying to game.

Does the power button turn on the laptop or only the dock itself?

I suppose it could be set up that way, but why would you want to?

I can only get HDMI video out with this? My m1 Mac won't do 4k unless it's USB C. That's why I bought this and I'm not getting picture unless it's HDM
