I use this every year at the start of summer, and does a great job getting the brown spots out of the grass. Sometimes it takes a couple treating's, but i highly recommend it.

Applied one round in mid-August after noticing a large, patchy dead spot in my Bermuda lawn (see left-side of photo). After two applications, spaced out per the directions, the area looks much better (see right-side of photo, late September). The grass has filled in around the edges, the patch is shrinking as new grass is starting to fill in most spots. It’s not completely healed yet, but the difference in just a few weeks is notable. It seems to be working as intended, and I plan to apply another treatment in mid-October.

Works as advertised! Couldn’t be more pleased with the results of this product. I wish I had a before/after pic but all I have is an after. I was so stoked on how my new lawn looked throughout most of the spring until the temperatures started to stay up. Then I soon became very disgusted with it after I applied Milorganite a week before Memorial Day. I was scratching my head as a rookie homeowner to the world of DIY lawn care. A little History Back last year in late April (2018) I seeded the lawn of our newly constructed home. I was so happy of how it looked only to see it start to die off in late June early July. So I did what most people would do. I called a professional lawn care company (Lawn Doctor) because I thought they would know how to cure and/or feed my quickly dying new lawn because I was clueless. A few months after hiring them, I could still seen my grass dying off. I contacted the company and their only response was “this process takes time and we need to kill off all the weeds so that’s probably what you’re seeing”. WRONG!! What I was seeing (and know now from this year) is the results of untreated lawn disease/fungus that most “lawn care” companies don’t treat for that issue. All they could keep telling me in their monthly treatments is that I needed to purchase their “overseed and aeration” service this fall to make my lawn look great. I already paid them $500 of a yearly treatment plan of $1800. So I said I’m gonna just do it myself and power-seed it in the Fall (2018) and figure out how to feed and care for my lawn to save these folks from taking anymore money from me. Again like I stated earlier...Spring came and my lawn looked awesome. I was blown away with how thick and green it came in. But then here come an early heatwave in May. Lawn looked great so I thought I’ll throw down some Milorganite because of the reviews I’ve read about it being organic. Put it down and by the next week I thought I had burned my lawn because it started looking brown all over and brown spots started to appear. Thank God for the folks on YouTube (How to with Doc, Lawn Care Nut, and Ryan Knorr) because I soon started to read and watch videos on “Lawn disease and fungus”. Didn't really help my yard. It's not something you put on a few times and it gets rid of the fungus - it takes a lot of well timed applications and works better if you rotate fungicides. Probably fine for what it is, but packaging led me to think it was much faster and easier.

I got this only to help kill mushrooms. I’ve googled the hell out of it on how to stop mushrooms growing in my yard. My grass don’t seem to have any diseases except probably because of rain and too much good nutrient. It’s just been growing mushrooms everyday. Certain section of my grass just keeps growing and then and this is the first time this happened. I’m pretty sure due to lots of rain this year and watering three times a week. I’m in California so it’s pretty hot but more rain this year than any other times. I have St Augustine and it’s very green and thick. I pick the mushrooms everyday because I don’t like the look of it. Yes I know it’s nutrient to the soil but I just don’t want it and it has enough good organic nutrients. So I tried this out and it does work but it takes a while AND it doesn’t remove all the mushrooms but it does remove a good portion of it from growing back. Have to sprinkle this more than once. I still see some pop up and I would remove them and spot treatment with it. I pull the mushroom out and sprinkle some in the hole and around it. So for just the mushroom concerns, this does not remove ALL the mushroom and some do still come back. I then tried using fast release fertilizer so it breaks down to the soil and takes the nutrient faster than the mushroom. Any quick release fertilizer will work but just have to be careful the amount.

Applied the max rate in two applications 4 weeks apart- 7 weeks on no effect. Wasted money.
