Previously, I'd used the silicone key fob holders Tesla sells. They only hold the key fob in with friction, and over time, they can get slippery, meaning your key fob can fall out. Also the loop is quite delicate, and gets squeezed if you ever need to take it off of the key ring. I've had at least one of these completely fail.This item is much more secure and durable. I've used both the Model S and Model X versions. The key fob is held inside of a 2-part "cage". The cage is held together with two screws. It's a pretty clever design: you still have easy access to all of the buttons, but the key fob is not going to escape.I also appreciate the attention to detail: Two screws means if one does manage to work its way out, the other screw will hold it together. The screws have thread lock on them, so this is highly unlikely in any case. The strap also helps hold the two pieces of the cage together, so even if both screws fell out, there's a good chance the cage would hold together.They also provide a second set of screws (and a screwdriver!). The strap is leather(ish), and has a nice ring with a folding section, so it's easy to separate from the rest of your keys.My only complaint is that there's a bit too much packaging. I don't need the plastic insert in the box, or the little pouch. Replace both with a piece of crumpled paper I can recycle or compost.

Easy installation, fairly durable cage, fit my Model X key fob pretty well. Solid protection to the key during drop events and I more importantly to me, I can add an AirTag to it as the fob itself, I cannot attach one to it easily - this is essential to me. Happy with the product.

Very good keychain. It comes with all the tools for you to install in your Tesla Key.

It looks good, feels good but sometimes I can’t lock/unlock. Perhaps the aluminum blocks the transmissions?? I would buy it again though.

That you would have to use a tool to change out the battery

This keyfob case keeps me from accidentally hitting the buttons while the fob is in my pocket.

after about 4 months my key fob starting falling out at which point i realized the screw holding the cover had fallen out. not worth the money afterall
