Blue WaveNE1251 Blue Grip for Pool Handrails, 4-Feet (Sold individually, not in pairs)

I live in the VERY HOT desert Southwest -- for example, expected highs this week of 110+ degrees -- so the metal handrail is often too hot to touch. I have tried other types and styles of handrail covers in the past, some of which barely lasted one summer in our scorching weather, but so far this one beats anything I've used before. The installation was a breeze -- a single zipper that moved smoothly with no catches or snags. The inside is made of a rubber-like material, so it adheres to the rail and prevents the cover from slipping when you grab on. The outside is fabric and does not get too hot to touch, even after hours in the baking heat. The cover is attractive and can be removed easily to be hand-washed, which will come in handy after our monsoon dust storms. It appears to be very well made, so I may be able to use it for more than one season.Update: Well the season is over, and the royal blue color has faded to gray -- not surprising in our extreme heat and scorching sunlight. Still, the cover held up very well and serves its purpose of helping to keep the handrail cool to the touch plus providing better traction for wet hands than the metal rail alone. I highly recommend this product. Still a 5-star in my opinion.

They faded in the first year and lining broke down. Wrote to the manufacturer and they stated we kept them in the sun too long. We live in NC our pool is in the sun and the rails get very hot in the summer heat. They did keep the rails cool but they looked like crap after the second month. We have no other alternative so I have to purchase again. Manufacturer is not very customer focus!!

I loved the blue color for my swimming pool. It was very easy to place around the steps handlebar, however, I rate it 3 stars because the sun has faded the color. I wish it was made to maintain high temperatures and keep its original color. Now, I will have to buy another one next summer. Am not happy having to replace it! Please make one for 100+ temperatures!!

In original add I could not find how many rail covers were in the package. I went to the Q&A section and the first Question was how many to a Package? The answer was that they came in PAIRS. Very deceptive. Also, if pool rails have a tight bend (a one of the illustrations of the product depicts, the cover bunches up ...not a tight fit as advertised.

I can only speak on my initial experience with these since I put them on today. I purchased 4. One, the plastic zipper came off completely. I was able to put it back on but have doubts about how secure these will be. The zipper doesn't seem to have a way to lock without adding something. They went on easy enough but are somewhat bunched up on bends. We usually use Koolgrips so we'll see how these hold up.

I really can’t rate this product for its quality but I am basing my 1 star review based on the cost. I thought I was getting 2 but I only received 1 and after closely reading the description, you are paying for one. I thought it was a little outrageous

Every summer we would keep splashing water up onto the hand railings to cool them down before going in or out of the pool. These covers totally take care of that. The grip is great, the hold is great and there is no hot railing to deal with anymore.

This handrail protector replaced one that eventually took to the sun and cracked. The Blue Wave was so easy to put on and zip up by comparison. It fits great and works great. The quality is so much better than my previous purchase...it is worth it!

We like the quality but were somewhat disappointed to find only one tube in the order. The title states for handrails rather than handrail. Even more, someone asked a question if it included two and some joker said yes! I have ordered a second rather than send the one back but it has made it quite expensive despite the good quality.

For years we’ve had burning hot ladder handles. Then we saw these at a private pool. We are overjoyed at how well they work. Instant installation and no more burning hands. Ideal for all ages getting in and out of the pool. They are a gorgeous colour too. I think it’s a great safety item for young and elderly. I highly recommend these! Price was exceptional also.

This is my second pair, the fist lasted 3 seasons (steps put in shed over winter), they work well and are great during hot weather. the only down side is they are rather expensive to for a tube of cloth covered neoprene with a zip!

Thesr Blue Wave Grips are excellent. They are easy to install & do exactly what they are supposed to do. Plus, they look nice. Very pleased with this product.
