This stuff has done wonders for my 16 year old mini schnauzer. Since she was 14 she started showing signs of discomfort in her back legs when rising. She used to jump around when she got excited, but that was gone as well. Due to medical conditions, arthritis meds are not an option. Yes, it stinks - like a bay. It's not repulsive but it's not a rose garden either. My dog does not like the taste or the smell of it. I make her own food and tried putting it in the food and refusal everytime. I use #3 empty capsules for her weight, 10.5 pounds, and put it in a pill pocket with her other pills twice a day. It's a bit time consuming but she'll ingest it like that so I don't mind. The first week, maybe there was a very tiny difference in how she moved, but not too noticeable. After two weeks, better, less stiff movement. After three weeks, she was rising from laying down with hardly any stiffness at all. She just pops right up, which was not happening before. She's back to goofing off and playing. Pretty remarkable, actually. Be patient if you're not seeing results. Stick with it. This stuff works! She had no ill effects from it, no diarrhea, upset stomach or anything.

I have an old dog that's 15 who has stiff joints, so has been on a supplement with glucosamine in liver powder. When my younger dog got what appears to be ligament and meniscus damage in a leg, I had her on it and it seemed to work okay. But she would still limp a bit when she jumped too much or ran too far. When I saw that mussel powder specifically mentions ligaments I got this for her and used it for a few days. And it worked wonders. She stopped limping completely even after long runs and can catch a frisbee again. However, she got itchy a couple days after starting the supplement, and I did not realize it could have been from the mussel powder. She was itching as bad as when she eats chicken. After 6 days, she also started throwing up and did so about 10 times over 18 hours. I finally realized it was the mussels, and I have one of the very rare dogs who has a shellfish allergy. So, she's off the mussel powder (symptoms stopped immediately), but I am still using it for old dog, who also seems to greatly benefit from it.

Green lipped mussel powder is already making a difference for our dog. His mobile is on the rise and his back legs seem stronger. The powder also makes a wonderful broth for food and he loves it.

I have been giving this to my 15 year old+ dachshund who had become less active and always seemed to be uncomfortable. After one months my husband and I have been ecstatic to see him running and playing with the other dogs and playing with his toys again. It’s a little pricey but worth every cent to see Eddie playing again! Highly recommended this product!

4 Stars because time will tell if this product works. So far so good they love their food with a recommended sprinkle of the tiny spoon. I intend to reorder so a constant diet of this powder will keep their tiny dachshund backs in shape.

The jar is smaller than I thought it would be...but the amount used is minuscule. Because of the small amount used, I think it's going to be a long time before I see any results. I have a 16 year old and a one year old Dachshund. I am using this product for both. I hope it works in the short run and in the long run! Both dogs eat every bite of their food now when the powder is sprinkled in its spare portion.

I make my own cat and dog food and I have now found a great addition with this key supplement, and they both love it! I started off with a tiny part of a teaspoon, but I am upping it now on a gradient. So I don’t need to add glucosamine etc (check out all ingredients). This will cover it once I’ve got them totally adapted to it.

A 75 gram container did not even last a week at their recommended dosing with their included scoop. 85lb dog = 4 scoops a day and a loading dose is supposed to be double. It says 250 servings with 1 serving being 1 scoop so this should have lasted us 2 months not 5 days. The container was only half full on arrival so maybe we just had poor luck… Plus side is our dog likes it so we will try again with a bigger container.
