1912 Earth Worth | Skidding Tongs with Ring | 16 Inch | Red

Does what it says it will, which is bite into a log firmly and grab it. I connected this to a powered sleeve hitch on my old garden tractor. In this configuration, I can back up to a downed tree, drop this device onto the trunk, and raise the end an inch or two for skidding the log across my property, often without ever leaving the driver seat. It takes time to learn your techniques, and it can’t make my GT into a real farm tractor, but it sure does close the gap for me. I’m cleaning up and clearing the wooded edges of my property, and having fun doing all that work.

These tongs seems well-built as far as the ruggedness and materials however the geometry doesn't work well to grab logs. Maybe if I had someone helping that could hold the tongs on the log while I applied tension and began to pull the log they may work. With just one person these don't work at all because they fall off the log like 24 out of 25 times. I bought another brand on Amazon that was better (they were spring loaded) but they cost a little more and the shipping was about a week and a half (but free).

I bought this to put on my homemade log dolly and I should have purchased a bigger one, and also probably another brand. The 16" is probably best suited for 12" logs and smaller. Anything bigger and it doesn't have the room to get a good grip. If you're looking to move any decent size logs, I'd go for a bigger one.

Received shipment on time ,Iteam is well made . this iteam is as stated on web listing , wish I had ordered the larger size , but these will get a lot use . they open a little over 16'' , as a lot tree's I cut are over 16''. I should ordered next size up , these open in width 0'' to 16'' , the 32'' open from 0'' to 32'' and for the little more cost would been more useful to me . But I am very happy with the 16'' . maybe something to think about before ordering the 16'' ,

The hooks on the end needs to be bent more for grip on larger pieces of wood. The sturdiness is good. They will hold as much as your chain will hold. Good product.

This thing is very solid, super heavy duty. However, I guess it was not made for dragging logs. Lifting them straight up - this is awesome. Dragging - not so much.

Bought these Oct. 2020 for farm use. Used them first time todayTree fell on my property and I cut off a large limb. Hooked these tongs to it and pulled with my 25 hp tractor and they bent with first pull. They are totally junk!

Used to drag downed trees behind my Honda quad, stayed tight, excellent quality
