This is our second or of these that gets a ton of use up at our cabin. The lock feature is quite annoying, and when I dropped a cast iron Dutch oven on the first one and cracked the glass, I looked for a similar model but without the lock feature, but they all must be required to have it. So I went back to this model since we liked everything else about it. My husband installed it himself, since we’re in a remote location, and thought we’d gotten a defective one, because it was working but would only get lukewarm. But before sending it back, he experimented and discovered he’d switched 2 wires, so be aware if you run into a ‘lukewarm’ issue. So overall we’re pleased, just wish we knew how to disable the lock.

I am editing my previous review to become a positive one. I had indicated we had problems with this, but the Karinear team contacted me with a solution (turns out a child lock somehow became enabled so if suddenly you can't get anything to work, that's probably the culprit). The manual was missing from our package, so that was the core problem as we couldn't figure out why things weren't working without it. Since things are labeled only with icons and not text it's a guessing game without the manual. Anyway, our problem has now been solved quickly and a PDF copy of the manual has now been provided, so we are changing our review to a positive one. The stovetop heats up quickly and cooks effectively, and has a nice clean look. We appreciate the quick resolution of our problem. One star off for the missing manual, but otherwise, we are very happy with the purchase and would recommend it—just make sure your package includes a manual!
