Decent backpack, well made but few pockets
First off, I have been a loyal Brenthaven customer for many years. I recently decided to switch because the Brenthavens although well made, are far too bulky and their lifetime warranty seems to only cover the zipper pulls. I wanted a less-bulky backpack with a decent warranty and I think I found it in this Pelican model. I was originally going to purchase the 20L model, but am very happy I chose the 25L model as the size is just right.PROS:Well made, Waterproof, durable material, comfortable straps.CONS:This is a big one for me and the primary reason I could not give this product 5 stars. There are 2 main compartments, 1 for the laptop & tablet and the larger one for everything else. The main compartment has a SINGLE pocket even though the product description claims "Large main compartment with organization pockets". This may seem trivial, but when trying to organize, the one pocket and straps (for lack of a better word) just aren't enough.

Great rain protection, Lifetime warranty
I needed rain protection for walking between college classes with my backpack carrying my laptop computer, books, papers, etc. In Florida, it downpours. This backpack works. It holds everything I need comfortably even though it is not real large. It is pricey, but my Razer Laptop costs $1300.00 so it is definitely worth the peace of mind for the protection from rain. Backpack has a lifetime warranty, so you can't beat that.

My second Pelican pack - Buy one pack that will last a while
After upgrading from the smaller pelican bag I can say this is the perfect size for travel, students, and citygoers alike. I work and am a student in the great city of Chicago and this bag fits all my schools stuff (scrubs, laptop, notebook, and books) along with my work clothes and my lunch. The secure zip pocket at the top is perfect for quick access to things like pens, chapstick, a granola bar, etc. i really like how they made the laptop pocket separate on this version along with the secure zipper. It fits my Macbook Air (2018) inside its Thule case perfectly and doesn’t create a bulge into my back. The main pocket has another pouch for more small items (Tiles, notepads, chargers, more snacks, etc etc) and along with loops to attach locks or loop charge cords through for quick access. The rest of the main area has just enough space for your day to day essentials whether its books, uniforms, lunch, tools, or whatever else you may need. There are two water bottle pouches on either side that can fit your Average sized coffee travel mugs and water bottles. There are elastic loops that you can really stretch to secure anything if you tend to run after busses. Finally the front pouch is best for thin items like documents, deodorant, tourniquets, or more snacks. The overall material make of this pack vs the 20 litre one is much better. After about a year of everyday use of my old pelican the back padding began to fray. After 6 months of using this new pack there is barely any signs of wear on it at all. The waterproofing of this pack is great for the unpredictable weather of Chicago while still remaining comfortable and light. Water just runs off this pack and I’ve never seen any sign of it leaking into the contents.I’m the type of person to not shop for the cheapest thing that will get me where I want to go. I do my research to find the best value that will last and do 100% of what I want it to do with no issue. This pack meets all my criteria and more. Its durable, waterproof to a T, has enough space for everything I need, is comfortable, and lastly it’s a great value for the amount I paid. Yes it is far more expensive than the cheapo backpacks you can get that “save the environment” or are in style, but those backpacks will fall apart within months and eventually in the time in takes me to replace this pack a cheapskate will have spent more on cheap packs than I did on this one.Tldr buy this pack if you want something that will give you your money’s worth.

Great for road warrior!!
I own all pelican things even the phone cases And drink ware. Everything holds up and works great.I fly every week, only think is the straps are a little long which do every once in a while catch on tsa scanners but I’m not worried about the bag it’s great!! The 25 fits my surface pro, iPad Pro (12”), Bose Noise canceling headphones and all of the other small things you could possibly carry when you fly.Lifetime warranty. I’ve never had issues with Pelican. They are a great company!!

Still on the small side.
Build quality is of course out of this world. My gripe is with the over all size. I previously returned the 20L bag because the laptop pouch wouldn’t hold a 9” wide laptop. Thankfully this one does, but just barely. Doesn’t seem like it’s 5L larger, it just has an extra compartment. If you’re looking for a rugged laptop bag, I suggest going to the next size up. I’m still trying to decide if that will be worth the $190.I wanted this bag to be my personal item on flights so I am worried the 35L option wouldn’t fit under a seat.

Great thin and light backpack
I was looking for a backpack that would give my 17" laptop relatively good protection when transporting it about. Color and material are pretty solid. Doesn't feel super cheap. It's comfortable to have on your back even when pretty well loaded. It distributed the weight well across my shoulders and back, especially with the sternum strap; everything felt secure. It would have been THE backpack except they utilize a false bottom in the laptop compartment that provides about an inch air gap so your laptop never slams on the ground. Alright, no worries. Maybe I could just remove the false bottom, unfortunately the bottom of the laptop compartment doesn't have as much padding as the actual storage compartment.

Buy the 35l version.
The 25l version is very small. The laptop compartment barely fits a 15inch thin and light laptop. The laptop compartment is comparable to a 15l bag (I know this because I bought this as an upgrade for my 15l arcteryx bag. But unfortunately it's basically the same for my laptop, a very tight fit). The laptop compartment does not go all the way to the bottom of the bag. if it does, there would be enought room for 15inch laptop. Both of the small pocket in the front compartment and in the back, are on the top of the backpack, which makes it quite awkward to store things such as power brick and mouse. The phone pocket is too small for big phones like the note 9.There are many problem with the design but the build quality is very sturdy. I'm a rather small person and prefer small bags. For this reason I have to keep this bag. Otherwise I would return it.
