Timberland Men's Classic 2 Eye Boat Shoe

This was a repurchase as I first bought this style of shoe in 2011, and it lasted quite literally 5 years before I decided to get a fresh pair. These are great shoes that are well built and will last you a long time. It might seem strange but I initially looked for the Timberland's after reading about how they were sustainably made. For example, their laces are made from recycled materials. Of course, I thought they looked pretty good too, so I took the plunge and it was well worth the money. I wear these on nights out either to restaurants or bars, and they go with anything; they are my go-to shoe! Really comfy and slip on and off easily, but equally can be tied tight if you prefer. I've found they are easy to keep clean and continue to look premium even after years of use. It's a great smart casual shoe that I can't see going out of style. I tend to wear them with no socks or with low cut ankle socks - equally comfy either way!

Beautifully made boat shoes, the leather is supple and of high quality. The stitching is perfect. The soles are extremely grippy....I like the multitude of zig-zag slits in the sole that expand when it flexes. The laces are great quality. There are no horrible seams in the shoe to rub a toe or ankle. I was surprised at how narrow the toe box was though. I thought this would be the 'wide fit' as generally people's toes splay out if they spend a lot of time barefoot, but I think it refers to the section in the middle of the shoe (where the laces are). Anyway the leather is supple enough to allow for the toe box to give a little, but having said that I'd have liked a broader toe box. The last pair of boat shoes I bought (I don't recall the make but they weren't expensive) are still going strong after 20 years of use/abuse, being worn in the sea, left outside in rain etc etc. I hope these Timberland shoes have a similar longevity.

These shoes are great. Excellent quality and look good. Priced very competitively and so much less than high street retailers. The shoes were delivered in ultra quick time as well. Given a rating of four stars. Why not five stars ? I found the shoe size was an issue. I was about to go away on holiday and wanted to take a pair of these shoes with me. I'd read a few reviews and there was a view that some sizes weren't what you would expect. I therefore ordered two sizes to be sure I had a pair to take away with me. Both pairs unforunately didn't fit. I returned them the same day via Amazon - very easy process. They confirmed the cancellation and the money was back on my credit card very quickly.

Some of the best boat shoes you can get on the market - agree with other comments that the inner build quality may have deteriorated over time but I typically get through a pair of these once every 2+ years with heavy usage before they give up their look. One comment on sizing - I've had a few pairs and learnt now that the leather will stretch over time to the point where they become loose to wear - so strongly recommend getting a size down (I am UK11 and go for UK10) which will feel very snug at first but after a handful of wears will stretch to being comfy.

A good price for these shoes which I buy every 2-3 years. They're comfortable and can be used both on and off road. The fit isn't wide, but mould to your feet if worn indoors for a few days. I wondered whether to get the very similar non Timberland pair but I'm glad I chose the original and best.

Wasn't sure at the price if they would be genuine but I decided to take the risk and I'm glad I did! These fit very nicely and stretch out to accommodate if they're too tight at first purchase. I've had them for 6 months now and show no sign of wear. Look smart enough for special occasions but also relaxed for other times
